Romanian Tech Tree in World of Tanks • 2021 proposal • Part 3 • by davidblader

Please read part 1 and 2 if you haven’t already.

Hello, community!

I am davidblader and welcome to part 3 of the Romanian tech tree! Thanks for your positive feedback on parts 1 and 2, as well as for your criticism. 🙂

New tech tree design, click here for full quality

As you can see, I’ve made a new tech tree design based on the official Wargaming model. I’ve also made Wargaming-style images showing the vehicles’ researchable modules (see below).

The new tech tree design shows the best version of the Romanian tree (‘’version 3.0’’, as I’ve called it – I used different versions in parts 1 and 2), which includes the mixed light-medium-heavy branch.

Part 3 – introduction

In part 3, I am first going to show you an overview of the tech tree, while I discuss what potential I believe Romania has to get added to World of Tanks.

After that, I am going to show you the researchable modules of every vehicle.

I will continue by showing you what the Romanian emblems, colors, consumables, inscriptions and camouflages would look like in the game.

Let’s start now, shall we? 😉

-Fixed a bug related to the fact that the 12 cm aka L / 40 gun for Kranvagn and 120 mm Gun M58 for T110E5 were automatically researched due to the obtaining of rental vehicles for the “Team Clash”. The guns will remain available to players who have already researched the tier IX vehicles – Emil II and M103, respectively.

  • Those players who have not yet researched these vehicles will need to research the guns just as before the patch.

-Fixed a bug related to the client freezing in some cases when previewing a style in the “Team Clash” mode.
-Fixed a bug related to the inaccessibility of repair of some modules when clicking the mouse in the “Team Clash” mode.

WoT RU – average user PC build

The World of Tanks developers revealed which PCs the RU/CIS “tankers” play with in 2021.

The average parameters of the tanker’s computer are as follows:

• 2 GB of video memory;
• 8 GB of RAM;
• screen resolution 1920×1080;
the average ping value is 45.

At the same time, the game has almost 5000 registered users playing on computers with 64 GB of RAM, and 10 players with 256 GB of RAM installed in their builds (!!!)

The most common monitor resolution is 1920 × 1080 – 41% of gamers play at this resolution.

To play World of Tanks, players use over 2,400 different processors. About 54% of gamers use quad-core processors, the most popular being the Core i5-9400F and Ryzen 5 2600. 62% are using NVIDIA graphics cards, the most popular operating system is Windows 10. There are as many as 5 people playing on Windows 2000.

“Newcomers” to World of Tanks who arrived to the game after 2019 are slightly inferior in terms of the average computer parameters to the “veterans” of the game registered before 2013. Newbies prefer standard graphics, and veterans prefer better graphics.

Every third “tanker” plays on a laptop. Newbies registered after 2019 have an average ping of 49. Veterans have an average ping of 41.

In World of Tanks, you can divide all users into “levels” using the WGR rating, which takes into account the success of players in all types of battles. Based on these statistics, three groups of “tankers” are distinguished: “experienced”, “amateurs” and “beginners”. Comparison of these groups in terms of computer parameters showed that there is a significant difference only in the amount of GPU memory – the average amount of video memory for “experienced” “tankers” is 4 GB, while for “amateurs” and “beginners” – 2 GB. Otherwise, the differences between players with different levels of experience are minor.

Other interesting facts:
• most players have the name Alexander.
• The most popular musical group among “tankers” is Metallica.
• 53% of World of Tanks players prefer tea.
• 49% of World of Tanks players have a cat.
• The most popular tank in 2020 was the Super Hellcat.

Sandbox 2021: Get Ready for New Tests!

From EU portal.

Starting the second week of February, we’ll be launching a series of critical tests of the current game mechanics on the Sandbox server. As we work on the future of the game, we’ll show you draft concepts so that we can receive your feedback, have a discussion, and decide its future. Therefore, we invite you to take part in the upcoming tests and share your opinion on our ideas to improve your gameplay experience.

Some of the changes you’ll see in the tests (revisions to HE shells and artillery mechanics) have already been presented to the community before. Your feedback helped us develop the changes that we are now going to assess.

The very essence of the Sandbox is to enable developers and players to forge the game’s evolution together. It’s a way of collaborating that has already proven its effectiveness. The tests we are doing now are important and your help is valuable, so please join and share your opinion. Welcome to Sandbox 2021, Commanders!

Test Schedule

Here are some examples of what kind of changes you’ll have the opportunity to try out during the Sandbox tests. This list is far from complete—more detailed information will be available in dedicated articles before running each test:

  • Decreased damage from HE shells that hit the front of well-armored vehicles.
  • Reduced artillery stun time.
  • More discernible traces of artillery shells.
  • “Arty Lamp”—a new feature that informs a player when an enemy SPG has fired.
  • Revamped Crew 2.0—new and reworked skills and perks, a new system of crews and their progression, and a new Instructor entity. You’ll also learn how your current crews will be converted to the new system.

122 TM Marathon Coming This Month

According to Russian sources, a marathon for the new Chinese Tier VIII tank is to arrive soon.

There will be 122 TM as reward, a tank already posted about several times.

This is to take place right after Team Clash 2021 ends – probably on February 12-22, and the purchase of the tank will be possible from February 12 to 25 (these dates may change).

WoT coming on Steam this year

World of Tanks PC will be released on Steam in 2021.

Last night, a Steam page for World of Tanks PC was added to Steam, which indicates the future release of WoT on this platform. Almost 11 years after its launch, WoT will be playable on Steam for free.

As a reminder, two other Wargaming flagship projects have been available on Steam for a long time. World of Warships was released there on November 15, 2017, and World of Tanks Blitz a little earlier – on November 9, 2016.

Can we already think about removing the Wargaming Game Center – not yet. WG has implemented everything in its own way and the company does not want to lose the audience of its game to Steam. Likely they will make the Wargaming.net Game Center launcher launch simultaneously with the launch of the game on Steam (in quiet mode).

World of Tanks was not originally created as a game for several PC platforms, therefore it is impossible to use an existing account to enter the game through Steam. If you start playing World of Tanks on Steam, a new account will be created for you.

“When the game becomes available to Steam players, you will have access to all of its content. By creating a new account and completing a short tutorial, you will be able to fight alongside millions of “tankers” from existing servers. When you first enter the game, one of the game regions will be automatically selected for you (based on your location). If you want, you can change it (immediately or later), however, your progress in the game will start over again. All updates will be done through Steam, and you will be able to access all the new content at the same time as everyone else in your region. In addition, you can interact with all “tankers” without any restrictions – add them as friends, fight together as a platoon and join clans. “

At the moment, the World of Tanks Steam version supports 4 regions: RU (CIS), EU, NA, ASIA (China is not supported), as well as the client of the Sandbox test server.

No support found for the Public Test client via Steam. There is also 1 hidden DLC, most likely this is some kind of unique content (customization, etc.) for the Steam version of WoT.

The game on Steam supports 27 languages, there are no collectible Steam cards (they will be added later, in one of the next big updates).

In the meantime, you can add the game to your Steam wishlist.
