World of Warships Blitz Domains Registered

Russian sources tell that World of Warships will be released on mobile devices this year. We wait for the official announcement, presumably the reveal will come until the end of this spring. Most likely this spring, the game will enter the phase of Closed Beta Test – exclusive to iOS devices (as WoT Blitz before release). Then the game will see a soft launch in some countries, and then be released worldwide. About WoWS Blitz rumors circulated for a long time, and now Wargaming has registered these domains this week. Victor Kislyi, at the end of the last year, gave some hints. According to our assumptions the primary market of the game should be in Asia. The domains:

wowblitz.asia 2017-03-21 R114-ASIA (1376)
wowsblitz.asia 2017-03-21 R114-ASIA (1376)
wowsblitz.com 2017-03-21
wowsblitz.net 2017-03-21

This time the game might be released in Asia first, but the EU/NA players as always will have to wait some more. The development of the game took place outside the CIS region. Remember that WoT Blitz is a success and the game is in first place by revenue from all the CIS mobile games as February 2017. The mobile market is a very good and profitable trend in the gaming industry.

WoT Blitz: IS-2SH

Meanwhile in World of Tanks Blitz, the IS-2SH was announced (according to Russian sources, it’s a variant of the IS-2M) – a Soviet heavy tank with rear placement of the turret.

WoT Blitz: Update 3.6 – Vehicle Rebalance

The update is scheduled to be implemented on 22 February. Due to that, there will be a period of server downtime from 00:00 CET until 03:00 CET (UTC+1).

As we stated at the beginning of the year, in Update 3.6, Tier IX–X medium tanks will be significantly rebalanced. High-tier vehicles of this class had too much influence on the outcome of battles, which is confirmed by the statistics and player experiences. Learn more about the changes below.

Premium Vehicles

FCM 50 t

  • Turret armour increased from 120 to 150 mm

Researchable Vehicles

  • Why was the penetration decreased?
Most Tier IX–X medium tanks outdo heavy tanks in this parameter, which contradicts their initially intended role in battle. Medium tanks easily penetrate the front of heavy tanks from a distance, thus depriving the heavy class of their main advantage.
  • Why was turret armour nerfed for Soviet medium tanks?
Top Soviet medium tanks used to stay in the same position and block huge amounts of damage with their turret armour. The redistribution and nerfing of turret armour will encourage players to pay more attention to manoeuvres when driving these tanks. However, turret shapes remain unchanged, so Soviet medium tanks will still be able to successfully deflect enemy shells.

TAA Tank Destroyer: The Romanian Merkava

The Newly Discovered Romanian Tank Destroyer Apex

Ever since the mid-1950’s, Romania was slowly distancing itself from the Communist bloc. All while staying loyal to the Soviet Union and the Warsaw Pact, but steadily loosening the Soviet grip on Romania’s economy and military. After Nicolae Ceaușescu, the Communist leader of Romania (1965 – 1989), condemned the 20th of August 1968 Warsaw Pact invasion of Czechoslovakia, relations between the Romanians and the Warsaw Pact were significantly diminished.

The Romanian military was no longer under the control of the Soviets and the Warsaw Pact due to the incident, although they were still formally part of the Warsaw Pact. From the 1970’s onwards, Romania was generally free to develop and manufacture whatever equipment they were capable of, while buying some of it from Czechoslovakia and the Soviet Union.
