WoT Blitz: Update 3.6 – Vehicle Rebalance

The update is scheduled to be implemented on 22 February. Due to that, there will be a period of server downtime from 00:00 CET until 03:00 CET (UTC+1).

As we stated at the beginning of the year, in Update 3.6, Tier IX–X medium tanks will be significantly rebalanced. High-tier vehicles of this class had too much influence on the outcome of battles, which is confirmed by the statistics and player experiences. Learn more about the changes below.

Premium Vehicles

FCM 50 t

  • Turret armour increased from 120 to 150 mm

Researchable Vehicles

  • Why was the penetration decreased?
Most Tier IX–X medium tanks outdo heavy tanks in this parameter, which contradicts their initially intended role in battle. Medium tanks easily penetrate the front of heavy tanks from a distance, thus depriving the heavy class of their main advantage.
  • Why was turret armour nerfed for Soviet medium tanks?
Top Soviet medium tanks used to stay in the same position and block huge amounts of damage with their turret armour. The redistribution and nerfing of turret armour will encourage players to pay more attention to manoeuvres when driving these tanks. However, turret shapes remain unchanged, so Soviet medium tanks will still be able to successfully deflect enemy shells.

Т-54

  • For the 100 mm D-54 and 100 mm D-10T2S guns, HEAT shell penetration was decreased from 330 to 270 mm
  • For the T-54 mod. 1949 turret, armour was redistributed and nerfed

Centurion Mk. 7/1 and FV4202

For the 105 mm Royal Ordnance L7A1 gun:

  • APCR shell penetration decreased from 268 to 255 mm

Type 61 and STB-1

For the 105 mm Rifled Gun:

  • APCR shell penetration decreased from 258 to 245 mm
  • HEAT shell penetration decreased from 330 to 300 mm

Leopard PT A and Leopard 1

For the 10,5 cm L7A1 gun:

  • APCR shell penetration decreased from 268 to 255 mm
  • HEAT shell penetration decreased from 330 to 300 mm

E 50 Ausf. M

  • APCR shell penetration decreased from 270 to 245 mm
  • HEAT shell penetration decreased from 330 to 300 mm

T-62A and Object 140

  • APCR shell penetration decreased from 264 to 240 mm
  • HEAT shell penetration decreased from 330 to 290 mm
  • Turret armour was redistributed and nerfed

M48A1 Patton

  • APCR shell penetration decreased from 268 to 250 mm
  • HEAT shell penetration decreased from 330 to 300 mm

      1. I mean… if they rework the maps, get rid of +/- 25% on penetration (so you won’t be bouncing O-Ho and IS-3 with your T10 medium…), add proper weakspots on tanks, rework MM (so it won’t be 3 LT’s and 2 MT’s vs 5 HT’s on Ensk), nerf TD alpha and their 420 HEAT or 375APCR, some other stuff aswell… then you can start thinking about reducing MT penetration.

Also funny that nobody is crying about 215b or 50b, both you can play full APCR since APCR is pretty much straight upgrade, while HEAT suffers from low velocity and spaced armor/destroyable cover mechanics…. (not that I complain because 50b and 215b are ❤ )

        1. Yet I don’t see that many 215b’s and 50b’s rushing to the first hull down position and then spamming HEAT penetrating even the thickest armored vehicles with ease while other “lesser” players bounce from their “well balanced” turret armor.

But of course, TDs and artillery are the main problem.

  1. Can’t wait for these changes to be implemented on PC too. We’ll probably require WoWs ships to survive the flow of “elite” tears, but it’s definitely worth it. Poor little babies will actually have to take their time and aim now and then instead of spamming gold ammo.

WG should bring Noah’s Ark for April 1st.
