World of Tanks Supertest – TL-1 LPC

Hey, tankers!

Three Tier VIII vehicles are about to enter the Supertest. Let’s take a glimpse at what each of them are like before they hit the proving ground.

TL-1 LPC

Up first is the TL-1 LPC, the American Tier VIII medium.

Let’s start with the strengths. The mobility—it’s pretty good: a power-to-weight ratio of 18 hp per ton allows for a top speed of 50 km/h. Next, the front armor—it’s good, too, with the plates’ thickness reaching up to 177 mm for the turret and up to 88 for the hull. Plus, the plates are sloped at an impressive angle. As for the other characteristics: the cupola is rather small; the gun’s depression angle is 9 degrees; the hit points amount to 1,400.

Another strength of this vehicle is its 90-mm gun, with an aiming time of 2.1 seconds, dispersion of 0.35 m at 100 m, and a rate of fire of 7.14 rounds per minute. The alpha has been increased to 280 points which is outstanding for its caliber and allows to leave cover less often. The armor penetration is 208 mm for a standard armor-piercing round and 280 mm for a special HEAT round.

In battle, the TL-1 LPC performs just as a medium should: fire support and flanking. However, the decent armor and hit points allow for more daring actions. While the gun, that is nothing short of excellent for a medium, performs effectively in any given situation, be it from its alpha or shooting at a vulnerable enemy.

And what are the weak sides, you might ask? Well, nothing is perfect in this world, and this tank is no exception. But they aren’t that emphatic to be worth mentioning.

WoT Supertest – E75 TS

Hey, tankers!

Three Tier VIII vehicles are about to enter the Supertest. Let’s take a glimpse at what each of them are like before they hit the proving ground.

E 75 TS

Secondly, we have a Tier VIII heavy ready to bolster the German tech tree. Its name—the E 75 TS.

This vehicle is a fusion of all the brightest examples of German heavy tank engineering: the Tiger II, the E 75 and the Löwe. The classic King Tiger layout has been enhanced with the armor of the E 75 and the rounded turret borrowed from the Löwe. In addition, the sides have been reinforced with screens and the commander’s cupola isn’t large. All this combines to give the E 75 TS impressive protection in the front and on the sides. As for its HP, well at 1600 it’s one of the highest for its tier.

And the weapon’s not lagging behind either! This heavy carries a 105-mm cannon with an armor penetration of 227 mm with a standard AP shell and 282 mm with an APCR. It’ll take 12.3 seconds to reload, offering 360 damage with each shot. The accuracy is fine at 0.35 m at 100 m. You might think that none of these stats stand out at first glance. You’d be right looking at them individually, but together they come together to make one of the most effective weapons at this tier.

As for tank mobility, there’s no surprises here. Its max speed is 30 km/h, but this heavy picks up pace quite quickly. This means you can support an attack and get back to defend when needed.

The E 75 TS isn’t full of surprises in terms of its playstyle; this is a German heavy tank, which can both absorb hits and return fire. In fact, the solid weapon and armor will help you cope with any situation, or enemy, you encounter.

WoT Supertest – M48A2 Räumpanzer

Hey, tankers!

Three Tier VIII vehicles are about to enter the Supertest. Let’s take a glimpse at what each of them are like before they hit the proving ground.

And finally, a new German medium tank, M48A2 Räumpanzer, is ready for the proving grounds of the Supertest.

A variant of the American Patton, this German boasts excellent frontal armor for a medium (up to 254 mm in the turret and 152 mm in the hull). In addition, its most noticeable feature, the shovel in front of the lower glacis plate, is in fact a screen which further improves the armor of this vehicle. Another of its strengths is survivability, all thanks to its 1450 HP. But for such great armor and HP, a price must be paid; this price is in its mobility. This German medium has a max speed of 40 km/h and a power-to-weight ratio of 13 hp per ton. On top of this, the tank has a traverse speed of 35 deg/s and a turret traverse speed of 30 deg/s.

Now let’s get down to the gun. This 90-mm armament boasts good penetration: 205 mm for a standard shell and 255 for an APCR. You’ll be able to get off 6.9 shots per minute dealing 240 damage per shot. The weapon stabilization is pretty decent, the aiming time is just 2 seconds and has a dispersion of 0.44 m at 100 m. What else are we forgetting? Oh yes, its gun depression is 9 degrees.

The M48A2 Räumpanzer behaves like a hybrid of a medium and a heavy on the battlefield. If necessary, this medium can survive a blow that would put another ally vehicle out of action. Plus, its gun allows for dealing regular damage (instead of high one-shot damage) and can be used to immobilize enemies, turning them into sitting Credit and XP piñatas.

WoT EU – Historical Special: Battle of Guam

Commanders!

For this new historical special, we decided to look out a battle that may not be as famous as others. This one started in July 1944, and involved U.S. and Japanese forces (including tanks, which is quite rare for the Pacific Front) fighting for the dominance over the island of Guam. This American territory was captured in 1941, and taking it back was particularly tough for the Marines, tanks, and dogs involved. You read that right, Guam was one of the toughest battles for the American war dogs, hence the cosmetics you will able to win through these new missions.

To participate, you just have to redeem one of the codes below and jump into Random Battles from 6 July at 07:00 CEST to 9 July at 07:00 CEST (UTC+2). Remember though: you can only choose one faction for the entire duration of the event.
