WoWS: Graf Zeppelin update from Developers

Source: Ev1n, then he deleted it and let MeatheadMilitia post it.

There has been a lot of controversy in the community lately regarding the recently released premium ship Graf Zeppelin, and we would like to share an update on the situation, as well as our thoughts on how we believe we should proceed.

First of all, we realize the ship definitely did not meet the expectations of the community, it is clear that we didn’t put enough effort into fine tuning and finding the right balance and play style for the Graf. We really wanted to release her for Gamescom and uphold tradition, but could only do that with dive bomber setups if we later wanted to add back torpedo squadrons that had been positively received (but also too powerful) in the first round of testing. This was a technical limitation, but also a choice we were fine with, as we thought we could balance the dive bomber setups to be competitive.

To make things worse, the final changes that were done for her didn’t go through usual procedure and community contributors did not have a chance to correct the previews that they had prepared, which meant that the thing they showed to their audiences was different than what was eventually released on our live servers. We admit that the decision to release this ship in the current condition was wrong. We should have spent more time working on it and we need to take responsibility for this mistake, as well as provide our apologies to the community.

WoWS Gamescom Q&A

Source: Portal

Q (dzobo30): When we have a clan wars?

A: Clan wars are just around the corner. As shown at gamescom, September’s update should be bringing the most important features that all clan-lovers were waiting for. Clan base building, and reaping the benefits of those, as well as engaging in deep-sea clan-on-clan action, is all coming to your port very soon!

Q (Wuidermach): For the people who are going to go to the gamescom, can we try something new in the game before it comes out? And in relation to the game, will the mechanics of water mines be implemented for standard games? Or be able to know where we have given to the enemy ship when we make an impact?

A: The UK BBs are available for all gamescom attendees.

Q (arilies0): Will you add French battleships? And what will be the approximate release date?

A: We are obviously looking forward to the grand French battleships and expanding the French navy in that direction. We can’t commit to any dates at the moment though, but as announced earlier, we hope to deliver them by the end of the year.

iChaseGaming no longer a Community Contributor

Just because he said some developers should have been fired for the Graf Zeppelin failure.

„Hello iChaseGaming,

After being pulled into a Global Email about your video and one other, I have come to the conclusion that being a part of the Global Contributor Program may not be the best place for your brand. I do not want to control your content, but as a Member of the Global Contributor Program, saying things such as,

“The Developer who decided this was a good idea, needs to be [edited]fired.”

and

“Which office did that…whomever it was needs to be demoted or fired.”

Is not a quality we want to encourage. Also, encouraging players to send in support tickets only adds more work to our staff, not a quality we want to see in our GCC. We encourage players to give us honest, constructive feedback, but as a member of GCC, your additional comments of the company are going beyond constructive critism. I wish you the best of luck with your video content. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out.

All the best,

Brian Jakubson

WG seems to not learn from their mistakes. This time we get historical accuracy, because the ship looks unfinished indeed.
