Grotte Tank 3D Modelled by Giganaut

I am in the process of reducing the tab number at the moment. Luckily, I did find some gems too! Made by Giganaut, a friend of ours. Check his DeviantArt here: giganaut.deviantart.com

Year of proposal: 1931.

Rough translation of the history of the tank:

In March 1930, to provide technical assistance to the Soviet Union were invited foreign experts, among who was a German engineer Edward Grotte. Under his leadership, the autumn of 1931 at the Leningrad plant “Bolshevik” was designed and built an experimental medium tank TG. The tank did not go into mass production. Work on TG was discontinued due to its complexity to manufacture and hefty price, and from other services E.Grotte decided to give up.

However, as early as March 1931 E. Grotte UMM offered two versions of the Red Army in 1000-ton super heavy tank with the installation of weapons in three or six turrets. The towers were installed two 304-mm guns, four 152 and 76-mm and two 45-mm cannons. The crew consisted of forty people.

The armor protection of the frontal part of the hull and turret reached 300 mm sides – 250 mm, the roof and the bottom – 60-100 mm. The machine was supposed to install several engines with a total capacity of 24,000 hp (17630 kW), which were to provide a speed of up to 60 km / h. The transmission of the tank included a hydro-electric control system. The chassis provides for the use of hydraulic suspension and triple tracks. When considering the conceptual design of the machine, it was recognized that the design of the tank would be extremely cumbersome and difficult to master in production.

German Historical Lines Rework Part II: Porsche Line (Controversial)

Made by SovietTenkDestroyer.

Part I

Hello again. Let’s get something straight. This is mostly a historical rework.
Not a rebalance. Some are rebalanced. This is my vision of a historical line.
I’m not a noob nor am I terrible. I can play these tanks very well
(Not all of course). While I’m no unicum, I’m no noob. I know not everyone will agree but please refrain from insults. Also, I’m not dead set with these stats. So lets get started.

Tier 6: Tiger P

Tiger P.jpg
Before you think it has a lot of armor for tier 6. Keep in mind that tanks such as the O-I and AT-2 exist and those have a lot more armor. It shouldn’t be hard for tier 5 to penetrate and flank. The Tiger P never had a 8,8 L/71. Instead it will be equiped with a 8,8cm L/56. Only one Tiger P was put into service as a command tank. Also, some unhistorical engines exist.

Hit points: 800-950
Weight: 60 tons
Speed: 35/12
Engine: 600-620 hp
Power-to-weight: 10.33 hp/t
Hull traverse: 17-20
Turret traverse: 23
Viewrange: 370
Hull: 200/80/80
Turret: 100/80/80
Gun: 8,8cm Kw.K 36 L/56
DPM: 2000 more or less (What WG feels best)
Penetration: 140-160/181/44
Damage: 220/220/295
Accuracy: 0.35
Aim time: (2.3-2.6)
Depression: -7/+15

Tier 7: VK 45.02 A or B (Type 180 or 181, P1 or P2)

A:

VK 45.02 A.jpg

B:

VK 45.02 B.png

If you miss the Tiger I sniping abilities from my last rework. Then this will be a fine replacement. Also, if you notice the names. It seems like this tank had a lot of different names. More than what I have posted. The A and B variant had exactly the same specs. Except, that one was rear mounted and the other was centrally mounted.  Historically, it was supposed to have the 8,8cm L/71 and the armor wasn’t exaggerated as in WoT. When hull variants ever come to WoT, this will be a perfect example of how it can change playstyles. The ‘B’ variants being more of a side scraper. Porsche’s VK 45.02 was in a competition with Henschel’s VK 45.03 or Tiger II. This tank is weirdly mild for Porsche.
Porsche usually built and designed unrealistic tanks. (Mammut, Maus, Mauschen, Tiger P, etc) To which one would be better, who knows. The VK 45.02 would theoretically be more economical, but knowing Porsche, it would be riddled with flaws. One more thing, the ‘A’ and ‘B’ naming is false.

Hit points: 1500
Weight: 65 tons
Speed: 40/12
Engine: 600, 700, 740, and/or 900 hp
Power-to-weight: 13.84

Pentration: 203/237/44
Damage: 240/240/295
Accuracy: 0.33 or 0.34
Aim time: 2.5
Depression: -8/+15

Tier 8: VK 100.01 (P) “Mammut” (Typ 205)

Yes, the Mammut is a premium unfortunately or fortunately. However, it’s not released. The Mammut was an early concept of the Maus. It featured a 12,8cm L/50 and a 15cm L/40. In tier 8, it trades some hull armor for guns. BIG guns. The turret might or might not be bouncy (Depends on the angle). This will be a heavy sniper (Not sure how I’ll balance that) or a
big version of the T29 or T34 (Weak hull, strong turret, punchy gun). Some sources state that it had 140mm of armor but I don’t know how legitimate it is (120mm confirmed) The engine is fairly weak for 120 tons. I’ll giving it above average/good terrain resistance. There is a stock turret. It’s basically a turret in a turret. This will be a stock turret with the weight going from 120 to 140 tons.

Hit points: 1700
Weight: 120
Speed: 25-30/12
Engine: 780
Power-to-weight: 6.5 (Terrain resistance to balance it)
Hull traverse: 17
Turret traverse: 21
Viewrange: 370-380
Hull armor: 120(140)/100/100
Turret: 120/120/80
Gun(s): 12,8cm L/50 or 15cm L/40
DPM: Not sure maybe 2000 DPM or a bit lower (1600-1700 for 15cm)
Penetration: 200-210/230/50 (170/230-250/80 for 15cm)

Accuracy: 0.38-0.41 (0.42-0.46)
Aim time: 2.8-3.4 (3.2-3.4)
Depression: -8/+30

Tier 9: Mauschen

Mauschen model.jpg

Mauschen.jpg
Yeah, yeah I know… It was rejected (I liked it though :/ ). However, WG said it wasn’t completely scrapped and the VK 45.02 B is a very controversial tank. Probably less than the Mauschen. It’s basically a mid design from the Mammut and Maus. It’s very similar to the Maus. However, it not rear turreted like it’s sucessor.

Hit points: 1900-2100
Weight: 150
Speed: 20/15
Engine: 900
Power-to-weight: 6
Hull traverse: 17
Turret traverse: 17-20

Maus II or Maus with 15cm (Not necessary for historicity)

Maus turm I and II.jpg

There is no armor scheme I could find of the Maus II turret which looks a lot like the E 100’s turret. All I know is that it had similar or better protection (I’m sure WG can find some data about it. If not, I think a 15cm would great for the Maus). We don’t necessarily need to do this.  Arguably, it probably could use a buff. It’s historical as is.

German Lines Historical Reworks Part I: Henschel Line

By: SovietTenkDestroyer
Thank you! (and sorry for posting it so late)

Henschel Line

I know, I know… The Germans are mostly balanced. Some tanks like the Tiger II and Tiger need some love though. My job here is to try to make the lines balanced and historical. No completely new tank has been added. What I mean is that no completely new design has been added. I hope most of you agree:

Tier 6: Tiger I

https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/e/eb/Bundesarchiv_Bild_101I-022-2935-10A,_Russland,_Panzer_VI_%28Tiger_I%29.jpg
Since the Tiger I is an iconic tank, I feel that it should be lowered a tier. This will make this iconic tank more competitive with it’s armor. Overall, I think this will make the Tiger a great tank:

Hit Points: 950
Weight: 55-57 tons or slightly more
Maximum speed: 40/12
Engine: 650 HP (Stock) 700 (Top)
Power-to-weight: 11-12 hp/t
Hull traverse: 24 degrees
Hull armor: 100/80/80
Turret armor: 100/80/80
Viewrange: 370-380
Gun: 8,8cm Kw.K 36 L/56
DPM:
Penetration: 140-155/181/44
Damage: 220/220/295
Accuracy: 0.38 or 0.36
Depression: -7/+13

Tier 7: Tiger II

http://www.fprado.com/armorsite/Tiger-2-2002-Picz/KTiger-1945-02.jpg
This will be a nerfed version of the tier 8 version. The armor will be useful and it won’t be too hard for tier 5 and 6 because of the 80mm of armor.

Hitpoints: 1250 or possibly less
Weight: 69-70 tons
Maximum speed: 38/12
Engine: 650 (stock) 700 (top)
Power-to-weight: 9.5 or slightly more
Turret traverse: 25
Hull Traverse: 23-24
Viewrange: 350-370
Hull armor: 150/80/80
Turret armor: 185/80/80
Gun: 8,8cm Kw.K 43 L/71
DPM: 1800
Penetration: 203/237/44
Damage: 240/240/295
Accuracy: 0.35-0.38
Aimtime: 2.9-3.1
Depression: -8/+15

Tier 8: E 75

http://worldoftanks.asia/dcont/fb/image/my_favorite_tanks_09_e_75_1600_1.jpg
Before you think I’m crazy read this out! I’m not saying that to bring the 12,8cm L/55 with the armor to tier 8. The E 75 was historically a way to streamline the production of the Tiger II. It historically had the same armor and the same proposed gun (10,5cm L/68) to the E 75. This will have exactly the same stats as the Tiger II. The difference is, is that the frontal armor is better sloped. This will raise the effective armor from the Tiger II

Hit points: 1500
Weight: 74-75 tons
Maximum speed: 38/12
Engine: 700 (stock) 900 (top)
Power-to-weight: 12 hp/t
Hull traverse: 26
Turret Traverse: 27
Viewrange: 380
Hull armor: 150/80/80
Turret: 185/80/80
Gun: 10,5 Kw.K L/68
DPM: 1846.4
Penetration: 225/285/60
Damage: 320/320/420
Accuracy: 0.34
Aimtime: 2.3
Depression: -8/15

Tier 9: E 100 Krupp Turret

http://moderndrawings.jexiste.be/WW2Drawings/Images/1-Vehicles/03-Heavy_Tanks/E-100%283%29/p1.jpg
This will look like the E 100 in tier 9 because it basically is a E 100 in tier 9. The models won’t change. This tank will only survive by angling. The more experienced players will make this tank work for them. Most likely, with great results. However, if I could find another replacement I would. The Krupp turret resembles the Mausturm II turret. That’s because the Krupp turret is basically a lighter version of the Mausturm II turret to cut cost. However, the side armor of the Krupp turret is too weak. This is really the only unhistorical armor value is this rework.

Hit points: 1900
Weight: 130 tons
Maximum speed: 30/15
Engine: 1200
Power-to-weight: 9.25
Hull traverse: 22
Turret Traverse: 20
Viewrange: 390
Hull armor: 200/120/150
Turret (historical): 200/80/150
Turret (Unhistorical): 200/120-150/150
Gun: 12.8 Kw.K L/55
DPM: 2000
Penetration: 256/311/65
Damage: 440/440/630
Accuracy: 0.38-0.4
Aimtime: 2.4-2.8

Tier 10: E 100 (Tiger-Maus)

http://orig09.deviantart.net/b080/f/2012/188/a/e/e_100_tiger_maus_by_kampfenfur-d56ee7g.jpg

This will be a E 100 with a Maus turret. Nothing to change.

TAP Special #2 : EBR Panhard modèle 51

Warning, VERY picture heavy !

Hi again ! I’m back for another article translation from chars-francais.net, today’s about the EBR Panhard modèle 51. For the eventual new readers, these articles are aiming to highlight some vehicles which aren’t covered by WoT (yet), so in other words, vehicles of which not everyone is aware of.

The 201 model from 1940 couldn’t be mass-produced because of the events (France being occupied by Germany, Germany imposing that all French tank factories would stop production). As a result, after the war, Panhard studied a bigger model, the 212.

The EBR (Engin Blindé de Reconnaissance, armored recon vehicle) saw production in 1951, showing several technical innovations : thanks to its symmetrical design, il could drive independently in both directions and had 2 driver positions (one to the front, and the other to the rear). 4 out of the 8 driving wheels could be raised on roads, allowing a speed higher than 100 km/h (62,1371 MPH).

The EBR was powered by an air-cooled Panhard 12H6000S, 12 cylinders flat and 6 liters. Thanks to its low height of 22 cm (8,66142 inches, 0,721785 ft), the engine was located right under the turret basket. The con of this, however, is that for any mechanical intervention, the turret had to be removed. Another con was the high sound level, not really fitting with the discretion required by recon vehicles.

Company : Panhard

Production time : 1951

Type of vehicle : armored recon vehicle

Crew : 4 men

Length : 6,15 m

Width : 2,42 m

Height : 2,24 m

  • 3 x 7,5mm machine guns
  • 4 x DREB mounted on the turret

TAP Special #1 : Laffly W 15 TCC

Warning, picture heavy !

Hello everyone, I’m Erwin0859, and today I will present you an article translation coming from chars-francais.net, this time about the Laffly W 15 TCC. My goal is to post an article translation at least one time per week, sometimes maybe a bit more, depending of my available free time. But 1 per week should be a minimum, hopefully. These articles are aiming to highlight some vehicles which aren’t covered by WoT (yet), so in other words, vehicles of which not everyone is aware of.

Maybe forgotten because of the debacle, the Laffly W15 TCC mounted an armament which was very respectable for the 1940 battlefield. I’m talking about the 47mm model 1937 gun, also known as “ghost gun”, because there haven’t been many of them. And those who play the Somua S-35 in World of Tanks can tell how respectable this gun is 🙂

The Laffly tank destroyer has been created in an improvised way, under the pressure of May 1940’s events.

In order to make the production faster, the hull (initially there on the prototype) has been left and replaced by two armoured plates, protecting the driver. The gun’s shield has been extended on the sides.

70 vehicles have been made between May 24th and June 17th, 1940. Despite the excellent results, its late use sadly didn’t influence on the events.

14 anti-tank batteries of self-propelled 47mm have been equipped by the Artillery organization center of Nemours. Each battery had a platoon of tank destroyers including 5 Laffly W 15 TCC.

Armament : 47mm model 1937 anti-tank gun + 1 automatic rifle

Ammo capacity : 30 shells

Horizontal gun angles : 60°

Length : 5,40 m

Width : 1,90 m

Height : 1,80 m

Maximum speed : 48 km/h

Weight : 4,960 t

Crew : 3

-AMX M4 1948 (tier 8)
-AMX 65T (tier 9)

These are what i have left in store.

Why not get the tier 2 out of the way?

Description: A upgrade to the Schneider CA1 (one of the first operational tanks in history). It featured a fully rotating turret. A brother to the Medium II, it can feature a 75mm derp (found on the renault B.S), another thing of note: the entire UFP is spaced. It also has maybe -2 gun depression at most.

Tier: 2 medium
Hit points: 250
Armor: 16.5/11/11
Turret armor: 11/11/11
Guns: 37mm SA 18, 47mm SA 34, 75mm Blockhaus (possible), 25mm SA 34
Engine: Renault S4F (74 HP), Franklin (100 HP)
Weight: 9.7 tons (HP/T: 11)
Speed: 26 KM/H

AMX M4 49 amélioré tier 10 French heavy?

By: eat3reat3r

Description: A improved AMX M4 1949 that took on a different idea to combating HEAT shells-instead of removing armor, the armor was drastically improved. Historically it had 90mm of armor under the 280mm armor added on the UFP. This would mean effectively 370mm of armor. This would be game breaking, so only 280mm it is.

Hitpoints: 2,350

Hull Armor: 280/40/40

Turret armor: 250/120/30 (Plus big, heavily sloped gun mantlet) (Gun depression  -10?)

Engine: 1,000 HP

Speed: 40KM/H

Gun: 120mm SA 46

Summary: The tank is married with the AMX TCB turret that was featured on the 7.0 trailer. It will have a very strong turret and UFP, average turret sides, and poor hull sides.

Above; AMX M4 1949 amélioré

The TCB turret
