Supertest: Minotauro + T-26 CN (Initial Stats)

The Tier X Italian Controcarro 3 Minotauro tank destroyer heads to the Supertest soon.
The Controcarro 3 Minotauro is the top vehicle of the new Italian TD branch. It allows for both mid- and close-range gameplay. Starting from Tier VII, all vehicles will be armed with an autoloading gun, but not quite your regular one. Its function and principle differ from the classic guns you’re familiar with. Let’s look at the example of the Controcarro 3 Minotauro.
The vehicle is armed with a 130 mm gun with a 5-shell autoloader. Loading time between shells takes 8 s, and the magazine reloads in 24 s. The armour penetration of the standard shell is 255 mm, while the special HEAT shell penetrates 345 mm. Damage per shot is 530 HP.

The vehicle is well-protected for its tier. The front hull and turret armour reaches 300 mm. Turret traverse angle is limited to 90 degrees. Durability: 2100 HP. Top forward speed: 36 km/h. Specific power: 12.2 h.p./t.

When looking at the vehicle characteristics for the first time, you might think that the Controcarro 3 Minotauro is a standard tank destroyer and there’s nothing special about it. But that’s not true. Being well-armoured, you can deflect most of your opponents’ shells. Good gun depression angles and a rotating turret allow you to take non-standard positions using the map terrain and other objects to increase your advantage.

Its 130 mm gun with a 5-shell autoloader deserves a special mention. Loading time between shells is 8 s, and the magazine reload time is 24 s, which gives us the chance to win almost any duel.
In most cases, you should play in this TD like a vehicle with a cyclic gun. If you compare this vehicle with Tier X tank destroyers with cyclic guns, the Minotauro will come in third in terms of rate of fire after the Badger and Strv 103B, but those vehicles can’t boast 530 damage per shot. If you compare the Italian tank destroyer with other vehicles in our game by the same characteristics, you can see that the vehicle doesn’t sacrifice a long reload time for the opportunity to cause high damage per shot within short period of time.

Keep in mind that the Minotauro is equipped with an autoloading gun, which gives us the advantage and decreases the cost of a mistake in case we fail to penetrate the enemy’s armour. Its quick magazine reload, just 24 seconds, is also an advantage, allowing us to get back to business quickly, unlike other Tier X tank destroyers like the Foch B and Foch 155 that take 38 and 50 seconds respectively to reload their clips.

Additional Statistics
Dispersion during turret rotation – 0.04
Gun dispersion during hull movement – 0.2
Gun dispersion during hull traverse – 0.1
Dispersion after shot – 8
Shell Velocity – 1303/1256/720
Terrain Resistances – 1.1/1.2/2.3
T-26 CN

The Chinese T-26 CN light tank will soon head to the Supertest. It’s armed with a 45 mm gun.

Damage per shot: 47 HP. Penetration with a standard Armor-Piercing shell: 51 mm, and 88 mm with a special APCR shell. Reload time: 2.3 s. Gun accuracy: 0.46 m. Aiming time: 2.3 s. Engine power: 90 h.p.; specific power: 9.4 h.p./t. Top forward speed: 36 km/h.

The T-26 CN is a classic low-tier light tank with gameplay similar to that of the researchable Soviet T-26.

My message to Wargaming

This is not a news piece, but more of a personal rant. I encourage everyone to share this article anywhere you think a WG employee could see it – and to comment below your opinion on the main WoT issues. Voice your concern. Why did you stop playing? What would make WoT viable again?

Wargaming, use the new EU Supertest as an opportunity to finally improve and fix the game, getting it out of the hole formed in the last 7 years of poor decisions!

I have been a WoT player since 2011 and I have seen the hopes and dreams of the early years shattered by poor gameplay decisions. The absence of new tank lines (and too many OP premium ones, which theoretically should be weaker than their normal counterparts), gold ammo remaining OP (make it maximum 15% better), the lack of new maps (make no map appear twice in a row and we need open maps, not corridor ones). The game is still too pay to win! And some tanks are too exclusive. The clan wars meta is mainly 5-6 tanks, unlike before. Please buff underpowered tanks like T110E5, Type 5 Heavy and many others. And nerf the wheeled tanks already! Bring back weakspots, especially for higher tiers. Make Team Battles a thing again (7v7). And make special equipment available not only for bonds, but also for credits. Maybe some missions to earn gold? Return to the origins and make the game better, rewarding and enjoyable for anyone playing it – no matter his winrate. Make some interesting game modes, the game became stale and boring in the last years. End the 3 minute roflstomp matches too and revert the tech tree compression!

Where are the historians making sure the vehicles are historical? What are their credentials and what are they working on? Who makes the current  historical monstrosities? Wargaming seems to be very compartmentalised, nobody knows who is doing what in the same project.

Dear WG, bring some hope in the game. The change of focus to EU is the perfect opportunity to do so. You can also start working on the Swiss tree.

And about WoT Console – it currently looks like AW or some MOBA games – it lacks any real imagination or ideas for the future.

Think of the players too! Make it win-win, if you want the game to survive, and that means your wallets too will survive.

-Seb

Supertest: K-91-2 – Changed Stats

The K-91 Version II has appeared in the Supertest more than once, but has undergone balance changes for Tier IX in the current iteration of the test.

Description:

– K-91 variant with a front turret. The vehicle was developed by the Design Bureau of the Military Engineering Committee under the direction of A.F. Kvavceva between March and August 1949. It was planned to install a 12-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine with anti-parallel pistons. The mounting brackets with ski-shaped supports were to be used as support rollers. Development of the project was suspended in the planning phase in December 1949.

Description:
In June 1954, 9 projects of potential replacements for the M48 medium tank were proposed at the Detroit Arsenal. It was supposed to develop a machine with a combat weight of about 30 tons, which has increased (relative to the M48) indicators of mobility and firepower. As a result, the TL-1 project was chosen, but work continued on the light, well-armed TL-7 vehicle. The results were presented on April 7, 1955, but it was decided to abandon the project in favor of the T95 program. Not a single copy was built.
