WoWS ST, changes to test ships

German aircraft carriers

The concept of German aircraft carriers employs AP rockets and bombs, and slow torpedoes with high damage. We adjusted the parameters of these ships based on internal testing results before launching tests on the main server.

  • The parameters of the aiming circle and accuracy settings of attack aircraft were changed, and the height of their flight during the attack was reduced. Now it will become easier to conduct the next attack, however, the aiming cone will increase faster when moving;
  • The HP pool of attack aircraft and bombers was increased.
    For example, the HP pool of researchable attack aircraft of German Tier X aircraft carrier Manfred von Richthofen increased from 1,380 to 1,440, and of researchable bombers from 1,390 to 1,530;
  • Torpedo damage was increased.
    For example, torpedo damage of researchable torpedo bombers of Manfred von Richthofen increased from 8,200 to 10,200;
  • The “Engine Cooling” consumable action time of torpedo bombers and bombers increased from 5 to 10 s; and the number of charges increased by 1.
  • The “Repair” consumable became available for bombers of Tier VIII and X aircraft carriers August von Parseval and Manfred von Richthofen.

IX Riga

  • HE and AP shell ballistics were changed: shells will lose speed faster when fired at long distances;
  • AP shell armor penetration was reduced.

X Shikishima

  • HE and AP shell ballistics were changed: shells will lose speed slower when fired at long distances;
  • AP shell armor penetration remains almost the same as before changes.

We adjusted the parameters of these ships based on testing results.

WoWS PT, balance changes

Please note that all information in the development blog is preliminary and subject to change during testing. Showcased features may or may not end up on the main server.

In the second stage of the Public test for Update 0.9.4, we’ve changed the characteristics of several ships, having analyzed their combat performance and taken player feedback into account. Such changes were required in order to carefully adjust the balance of selected warships. We’ll continue to introduce changes in the updates that will follow, if deemed necessary.

VIII Öland

  • Stock torpedo tubes reload time reduced from 70 to 59 s.

VIII Cleveland

  • The “Fighter” consumable was added to the same slot as the “Surveillance Radar” consumable.

IX Seattle , X Worcester

  • The “Fighter” and “Spotting Aircraft” consumables were added to the same slot as the “Surveillance Radar” consumable.

The Odd History of Captured Vehicles

Source: ASIA Portal

Why would you want to capture the enemy’s vehicle? Well, the answer to that question can be pretty simple: because it is better than yours. In this article, we’ll explore the odd tradition of captured vehicles in tank warfare.

Success Stories

The history of World War II shows that capturing tanks could come in handy when you lack armour or firepower, and one very good example would be the  VII Panther .

This tank is considered one of the strongest machines produced during the conflict, and ironically enough, many countries used it against its German creators.

On the left: one of the first Panthers captured by the French, in March 1944.
On the right: the 503rd French Regiment Manoeuvres with Panther Tanks, in 1947.
In October 1944, Canadian forces captured an intact Panther in Italy and called it “The Deserter“. It was used during multiple assaults, including one against a German observation post before it was sent out of the front to be studied. A few months later, in January 1945, the British also found an abandoned Panther in a barn and decided to use it to push through the Netherlands villages. Christened “Cuckoo” this Panther was wearing the khaki of the British  VI Churchill VII  and fought during the battle of Geijsteren Castle and Operation Blackcock.

WoT: Get Ready for Frontline Stage 3 (+ Stage 4 Date)

Source: EU Portal

The third Stage of Frontline 2020 will start 27 April at 05:00 CEST and will be live for one week, until 4 May at 02:00 CEST (UTC+2). That’s seven days full of epic 30v30, Tier VIII only battles. We also have news concerning the next Frontline Stage: if you want to get ready, note that the fourth stage will take place between 25 May at 05:00 CEST and 1 June at 02:00 CEST (UTC+2).

Please note that we were able to fix the issue with periodic sound loss, as well as a number of other minor issues.

WoT EU Support: Collector Vehicles Info

What are Collector vehicles?

  • They are like any other regular tech tree tank, but they are obtained differently via the Collector Vehicles tab:
    32493_01
  • To unlock a vehicle you need to research its specific tier in its related Nation tree.
    • Example: To unlock all German Collector vehicles up to Tier V, you need to unlock at least one Tier V vehicle in the German tech tree.

How changes will be applied upon patch release

  • If a Collector vehicle leads to a vehicle that remains in the tech tree and said vehicle is not researched, the next and the previous vehicle will be unlocked.
    • Example: If the Jagdpanther II is researched, the Jagdtiger, Jagdpanther, and all other vehicles leading to it will be researched automatically after patch release.
  • If a collector vehicle is owned before the patch, it stays in the garage (no changes).
  • If a collector vehicle is not owned but researched, it remains purchasable.
  • Blueprint fragments for unresearched (soon to be) collector vehicles will be converted to their respective amount of universal and national blueprint fragments.
    • The required amount of blueprint fragments depends on the vehicle tier and can be found HERE.
  • XP earned with the collector vehicle will remain with the vehicle.

WoT: Upcoming PvE Event + Berlin Soundtrack

Soon, on May 9 we can expect a special PvE event in which the map Berlin will play the main role. The soundtrack has been added to the game files.

Official announcements should appear later this week.

It will be a special historical PvE event. It will be a natural extension of the Last Frontier event that was launched last summer and will inherit the best gameplay features, enriched by improvements and modifications.

Instead of fending off hordes of enemies, you will take over the offensive and undertake fierce attacks conquering hostile territory! Fierce battles will take place on the special map of Berlin, and in several other locations.
