Update 1.9: New game mode

The 1.9 update game files contain information about a new game mode: “Brawl mode”. These battles will be played in 7 × 7 format on 10 levels (as in the case of Team Clash), but this time without rivalry between Streamers and YouTubers.

The event will last from 24 to 26 April.

WoT 1.9: 2D style “Red Fortress” for KV-5 Pictures

Non-historical, valued at 1,750 gold.

The history of military engineering shows that brick fortifications have a clear advantage over ones made of blocks or panels. On the other hand, bricks are more expensive and require more labor during construction. Having considered all the pros and cons, the decision was made to develop this style for the KV-5 Premium tank, which earns enough credits to cover all costs.

M6A2E1 „Savior of Rome” 2D Style Pictures

An unique style that can acquired as part of the 10th anniversary of World of Tanks. The style is treated as a non-historical, valued at 1,750 gold.

Description: Legend says that in the 5th century BC, the Gauls besieged the Roman Capitoline Hill fortress and tried to capture it at night. They discovered a secret path and climbed the steep slopes using their shields. The Roman guards on watch were neglectful and fell asleep. When the geese of Juno temple made a noise, the guards woke up, rushed the attackers, and defended the fortress. A beautiful legend. But who knows? Maybe these funny geese on your armor will help block a couple of enemy shells.

Update 1.9 Patchnotes

Main Changes

HP Pool Rebalance

We increased the HP pool of all Tier I-VI vehicles. The ammo rack capacity of some vehicles was also increased.

This ensures a more consistent durability progression from tier to tier.

It also ensures improved overall performance, effectiveness, and survival time in low- to mid-tier battles, making them more enjoyable. New players can learn more from each of their battles and become better at the game more quickly.

Tech Tree Changes

The new Collectors’ Vehicle category has been added: it mostly includes low-tier vehicles.

The Tech Tree interface was made more user-friendly, simple, and clear, especially for new players. All 92 vehicles relocated from the Tech Tree will stay in the game. They will become Collectors’ Vehicles, which can be purchased for credits in the Store. To rebuild the Tech Tree properly, some vehicles switched tiers or even types. Also, some new tanks will enter the game for the first time.

Also, starting from Tier V, some transitions between vehicle branches were removed from some Tech Trees.

General Chat Is Returning to World of Tanks

Those of you who have been playing World of Tanks since 2016, or even before, will surely remember the General Chat. Previously, it was possible to communicate not only with allies, but also with enemy players during Random Battles. In honor of the 10th anniversary of our game, this nostalgic feature is making a return to World of Tanks. Jump back in time for one week and relive the memories!

General Chat Available

22 April 2020 08:30 UTC through 29 April 2020 05:00 UTC

Looking Back in Time

This may seem a bit unusual to new players, but in the early years of World of Tanks, you could send messages to the opposing team, and they could write back. But the intensity of battles in World of Tanks often meant emotions were running high, and these emotions occasionally spilled over into the General Chat. Frustrated players were sometimes known to reveal allies’ positions to their enemies, disrupting gameplay for everyone. Given the feedback on this feature, we disabled the General Chat in 2016.

But all this was (and remains!) an inalienable part of the history of World of Tanks, so we will restore General Chat to Random Battles for a week, as part of the 10th Anniversary celebrations.
