Supertest: Changes to Maps (Prokhorovka, Cliff, Ruinberg)

Source: EU Forums

After listening to your feedback over the years we decided the following changes to some of the maps. The changes will be tested on our closed Supertest servers to make sure that the changes are effective and balanced.

We hope you’ll like them and thank you for your feedback!

Prokhorovka:
Rework reasons:
1. The hill was reworked because of a strong imbalance in favor of the lower base team on this front.
2. There was an ability to easily spot the team pushing the hill and shoot at players from the center of the map.

Changes to the hill:
1. A depression in the ground was added so that the upper base team can take cover from fire from the center of the map.
2. A safe place was added that allows players to shoot at the center of the map (if you are not spotted).
3. The chain of bushes was reduced and rotated so that it is impossible to spot the enemy team from there while they are in their safe spot. Now, active scouting is needed.
4. During attacks of the upper base team at the hill, if the enemy is spotted in the bushes, their time to retreat has increased thanks to changes to the terrain in the specified area, which should positively affect the support of the upper base team from the center of the map.

Supertest: Obj. 780 (Initial Stats)

Source: EU Forums

The time has come to put a really heavy metal object to the closed Supertest! More precisely, the Object 780, a Soviet Tier X heavy tank.

Let’s dig deep into its characteristics. The 130mm gun reloading in 14 seconds has an alpha of 490 points, penetrating 263 mm of enemy armor with a standard AP shell and 305 mm with a special APCR round. The dispersion and the aiming time are 0.38 at 100 m and 2 seconds, respectively.

Protection-wise, the 2300 HP-strong Object 780 is a tough nut to crack, especially when it comes to the frontal armor with its favorable angles. The nominal thickness of armor here is 100 mm for the hull and 300 mm for the turret. For the dynamics and mobility, both are decent for a heavy: the tank can do up to 50 km/h with the power-to-weight ratio amounting to 17.5 hp/tonne

Summing up, the Object 780 is a bright offspring of the Soviet heavy assault tank family. With its mobility, it can freely choose a direction to attack and change it when needed. While the relatively low profile and the durable front armor allow for decent survivability.

WoWS ST – Update 0.9.5, Unique Upgrades Update in 0.9.5

Please note that all information in the development blog is preliminary and subject to change during testing. Showcased features may or may not end up on the main server.

Combat missions and Armory upgrade

For Update 0.9.5 we’ve conducted a global update of combat missions:

  • The combat missions interface was fully updated.
  • Now Directives are located in the battle missions section.
  • The combat missions display on the post-battle screen was updated.
  • Combat missions with the “OR” condition were added: to accomplish this mission you need to complete one out of two conditions.
    • For example, earn 10,000 base XP or destroy 10 enemy ships. Completing any of these two conditions will lead to the completion of the battle mission and getting a reward. Thus, players will be able to decide which condition they like most and pick ships suitable for its completion.
  • New rewards for daily missions were added. For example, in Update 0.9.5 steel will be added in a list of rewards for daily missions in the amount of 20 per day. And in July, research points will be added there as well (for players who already have access to the Research Bureau). In total, players will be able to receive up to 1200 research points per month.

WoWS ST, new ships

Please note that all information in the development blog is preliminary and subject to change during testing. Showcased features may or may not end up on the main server.

German battleship Ludendorff, Tier IX:

Ludendorff in her concept is does not stray far from the classical gameplay characteristics that are unique to German battleships. The ship is equipped with 12 380mm guns and has all the main advantages of her compatriots:

  • Her trademark German hull armor grants effective protection from enemy fire;
  • “Hydroacoustic Search” consumable will help to withstand torpedo attacks.
  • Powerful secondaries and torpedo armament will be an unpleasant surprise for enemy warships in close-range combat.

German aircraft carrier Erich Loewenhardt, Tier VI:
