Details about Friesland and the Netherlands tech tree.
In Update 0.10.6 a new nation – Netherlands – will appear, together with its first branch of early access ships – cruisers. In Update 0.10.7, the Netherlands tech tree will feature Groningen – a complete analog of Friesland. She will be available for 1,000,000 Free XP, as well as in the Armory for 19,300 doubloons.
Initially, it was planned to transfer Friesland to the Dutch tech tree, as historically she was in service with the Koninklijke Marine (Royal Netherlands Navy). However, having analyzed the feedback and possible options of replacing and transferring the commander assigned to Friesland, we decided to leave her as a European ship. Thus, players who own Friesland will be able to enter battles with familiar commanders that were trained particularly for Friesland, and if they want, they will have an opportunity to purchase the new Groningen.

VI A new stage of submarine testing will start soon, so we’d like to share what changed since the last test session, which took place in autumn of 2020.
Submarines have come a long way: Since their announcement in the summer of 2019, we’ve gone through three tests, a temporary “Submarine battle” event on the main server, and again a test on a separate server back in October 2020. During this time, a lot of feedback and statistics were collected, on the basis of which changes have been made to almost all the mechanics associated with the new ship type.
For previous tests, the playstyle of submarines was similar to that of stealthy torpedo-focused destroyers. Now, in order to ensure a unique type of gameplay for the new class, we’ve changed the main target for submarines. For a significant part of each battle, the underwater hunters will be fighting the very classes that have the best tools to confront them – destroyers and cruisers.
On July 5, we launched the experimental Recon Mission mode, which was created to give you the opportunity to play on pre-release prototypes of game locations and choose, in your opinion, the most successful of them.
Unfortunately, when working on the matchmaker for this mode, we didn’t take into account premium Tier VIII vehicles with preferential matchmaking, and these tanks are sent into battles with Tier X vehicles. The release of Recon Mission with the current matchmaker was a wrong decision and did not match your expectations. We apologize that the mode was launched in its current format without considering such an important aspect of the game, as well as for the lack of communication with you at its launch.
With this in mind, we have to discontinue the first Stage and take a break to make the necessary adjustments to the matchmaker, as well as conduct an additional mode check to rule out possible additional issues. The mode will be disabled according to the prime time schedule and you will have the opportunity to play in it today. In the future, the Recon Mission will be relaunched as soon as the necessary changes are made. Your game progress will be saved.
Stay tuned, Recon Mission will return after we improve it!
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
