Well, most of you did not like our latest logo change, so we’re reverting to the old one in the meantime.

However, marianr87Β had some nice attempts as well, so have a look and tell us what you think.

  2. Well. I can\’t say I like it.
    First of all, it\’s small. Then, it has no colors, so it has no distinctive features that are immediately visible. The previous designs had some colors to them at least.
    The other problem with it is that it uses a font that strongly reminds me to a military/gun magazine\’s front page font, and I just simply can\’t like it.

    Perhaps asking the readers about a possible new logo before changing it, that would be the best option.

    But at least make the logo 300% bigger.

    3. We\’re always willing to change it at any given moment if a better logo arises or the poll ends in disaster.

      Now, for the size thing– it\’s a problem we\’ve been facing since the day we adopted this theme. It\’s a WordPress limitation that we\’re currently working on solving.

      That\’s why we changed the logo /THEN/ asked you guys. Because I could literally upload a 4k image and WordPress would still make it tiny as an ant.

      1. Maybe spamming them with a good old fashioned WoT forums themed whining compilation would do the trick?

        But in all seriousness, I\’m sure asking them would bring a solution.

  8. I don\’t like it. It has way too many things going on, but at the same time it is hard to remember and not distinctive enough.

  9. Visually it looks nice, but I think it looks a little bit too complex compared to the blog\’s \”philosophy\”. I mean, the previous logos were simple and rather effective, in a way.

  10. This logo is much too busy. Besides the text it has the wreaths, shield and an arrow or whatever that is, plus it\’s all made of black lines on white backround which makes it even more busy and confusing.

  11. good logo cant be overly complicated because it looks kitsch (normal text and random stuff like tanks behind). it should be something small that can easily be recognized. play with shapes, letters to create one good looking logo like world of tanks one. combine A and P into logo, and \”The armored patrol\” under it on site banner? so you can put just the logo on your pictures for instance and people will know where it came from. http://i.imgur.com/amcvgJq.png

  12. It reminds me of the style of title banner used on cheap kids war comics in the late 1960\’s.
    The expensive ones were the same but in colour.
    This is just one persons mind associations and should not deter you from your choice for your image. It defiantly will not change my reading habits.

  13. It is close to theme but not exactly what I like… First you need color! Tank(?) behind world Patrol is barely recognizable + it totally obscure world patrol and makes it hardly readable… Concerning the fact you have (VERY) limited space for logo IMO you need to make is as simple and as recognizable as possible. Maybe one \”art decoration\” like bull\’s eye but with WOT vanilla recticle (perhaps) IDK after all I\’m not graphic designer but that is my honest opinion…

  14. I wish the \”O\” in \”Armored\” could be a wheel from an AFV instead of a Bullseye; Or ever better, Woras, could you link the two \”O\”s with a track?

    And delete whatever special effects there are in \”Patrol\”, the pattern is too complicated and I can\’t see the word clearly.

  15. If you removed the arrow, kept the bullseye and got it some steel grey color I think it would work nice…

          Do you think you somehow can add the \’The\’ in the logo? At the moment, it doesn\’t have the blog\’s full name. πŸ™‚

          EDIT: The last ones are really good. All you could do next is add the \’The\’.

      2. take one of marianr logos, woras just cant get the job done, he may be good with graphic editors but he has no sense of aesthetics for logos.

        2. Regardless of the final result, Woras tried to help us, and it takes a lot of effort – believe me. We really appreciate it, since neither Seb nor I have experience with logos.

    Old ones were better, even cookies were better.
    No offense to Woras, but this one suits more for a racing/target shooting or movies blog.

    Put something tank related into it or simply leave it without any \”effects\”.

  34. Marianr logos look great to do the job…tea and cookies etc that ugly thing u have there now are just…not good enough for great blog like armored patrol πŸ˜€

  35. Stop messing around with logos. The one before the cookies and wifi BS was the best, I don\’t know why are you guys insisting getting a new logo when the old one was good.

    1. Some people suggested that we should change our logo, so why not try something new.

      Truth is, the first logo we had (metallic look one) was squeezed because of the width limitation we have.

      The one marianr87 made looks good and clear, with a tankish look as well.

      1. Thats not metalic – thats just some photoshop preset on the text. 4-click design πŸ˜€
        And that will not do.

        1. Nope, it was not a preset. I used multiple blending options to create it, played around until I was satisfied with the result.

          It didn\’t take much, but it was more than 4 clicks, I assure you. πŸ™‚

  36. I really like the one from marianr; it is original, good looking and fits the blog perfectly if you intend to focus on tanks/armored vehicles. The one from Woras: meh (no offence to Woras).
