After linking your Wargaming account to Steam, it turns out that all the DLCs you may have previously purchased or added to your Steam library will be credited to you upon your first login to the game—even if the DLCs are no longer available for purchase.
Right now, several free DLCs are available for World of Warplanes, which can be used to get free gold (which, as a reminder, is shared across Wargaming games).
How to Claim the Free DLCs
First, you need to install World of Warplanes on Steam:
• Enter this link in your browser: steam://install/790710
• Launch the game.
• When prompted, log in with the desired(!) Wargaming.net account.
• Confirm the account linking. After that, you can exit the game.
Next, add the three free DLCs for WoWP to your library:
• steam://install/1001290 — Starter Pack
• steam://install/2288670 — Curtiss XP-31 Pack
• steam://install/3444680 — Grumman XF4F-3 Pack (This pack was supposed to be available only until February 27, 2025, but it is still active—so claim it while you can! ❗)
That’s it! Now launch World of Warplanes and collect your rewards.
Rewards – Why Do This?
If you already owned the low-tier planes from these DLC packs, you will receive gold compensation:
• Starter Pack — 🇩🇪 Henschel Hs 123 → 550 gold
• Curtiss XP-31 Pack — 🇺🇸 Curtiss XP-31 → 560 gold
• Grumman XF4F-3 Pack — 🇺🇸 Grumman XF4F-3 → 1,200 gold
Additional rewards:
• 1 Trophy
• 3 Steel Trophies (loot boxes)
Steel Trophies are the most interesting part, as they can contain extra gold and free XP, which is shared with World of Tanks (see screenshots for reference).
DLCs Also Work for World of Tanks!
As mentioned earlier, any previously activated DLCs on your Steam account will become available in-game for a linked WG account (one-time claim).
