In the early 1950s, amid uncertainty regarding purchases of foreign vehicles and unsuccessful attempts at creating their own modern tank, the Royal Swedish Army Ordnance Administration (KATF) initiated the development of an alternative vehicle alongside the EMIL project.
The new tank was meant to be well-armored and have powerful armament sufficient for engaging with Soviet IS-3 heavy tanks. However, in late 1952 an agreement was reached on deliveries of British Centurion tanks, after which the project became irrelevant and was discontinued.
In terms of looks, I think it’s really well-designed. A handsome tank. The question in WoT is: will it share the fate of the Kranvagn and fade into obscurity?
