Historical Reference:In the mid-1960s, the Bofors company developed a concept for a versatile medium tank that could be used both as an assault vehicle in infantry units and as a high mobility coastal defense vehicle.
However, after Strv 81 tanks were purchased and production of the Strv 103 began, the plans to manufacture another vehicle were abandoned. The Strv 74 medium tank, which had been used by armored brigades, remained as an assault vehicle in infantry units.
This tank bores me too, because these mechanics already exist and it feels like every nation has them in its arsenal by now. It used to be so exciting back when every nation had its own unique selling point: Russians had double barrels, Chinese had rocket boost, Germans had more accurate guns, Italians had auto reloader, French the fast tanks, Swedes the Siege Mode and the gun depression of death. and so on. But nowadays, every nation has what the others have—it’s all just a fucking bland, uniform mess.
