Object 277 S [USSR, HT-10, rocket boosters]
Historical Reference:
It was developed at the LKZ Design Bureau under the leadership of chief designer Zh. Ya. Kotin between 1956 and 1958. Two prototype vehicles were built, which underwent trials from 1959 to early 1960.
A hull and turret were also produced for live-fire testing at a proving ground. Work on the tank was discontinued in the summer of 1960 due to insufficient refinement of certain systems and components, as well as the lack of tactical and technical advantages over the heavy tank Object 770.
