🇺🇸HTPC[USA, HT-10, promotiona]
Historical Reference:
In the mid-1950s, design work was carried out in the United States aimed at reducing the overall dimensions of combat vehicles. Standing apart from other efforts was a project in which it was proposed to place the driver in a prone position.
Which—together with the installation of a horizontally opposed engine—would significantly reduce the height of the tank hull. As a result, three designs were created: a light, medium, and heavy tank. The HTPC (Heavy Tank Prone Concept) corresponded to the heavy tank M103 but had a lower profile; however, projects within the Prone Position Concept Study were never built in metal. Further development of the M103 platform was considered more promising.
