  1. A polished turd still is a turd!

Why WG even touches this piece of shit is beyond reason to me, there are a lot awful tier 8 prems that should be focused on buffing with an actual fanbase behind them. Even 10 years ago the Panther 8.8 has been rarely played… wasted amount of attention.

    1. I disagree that Panther 88 doesnt have a fanbase. What’s Panther 88 – insane DPM with paper armour and no camo. Now it’s also going to have pen and mobility. This kind of playstyle definitely can have its fanbase. I myself am kinda liking Panther 88 even now, I believe I will love it after the buffs. Then again, I prefer low alpha, high DPM over big alpha (E5 is my fav T10)

      1. Can I ask for your opinion on why you prefer lowalpha tanks?

I don’t know how to play a lowalpha tank. Already very few opportunities to fully meet the enemy and openfire, and there is almost no camo once fires. So why not just choose a tank without concealment in exchange for higher alpha?

        1. More often than not low alpha tanks have better gun handlings and DPM. And being able to keep the enemy at sustained fire has also a mental effect. On the contrary, my issue with high alpha tanks is that you put all your eggs in the basket that you are gonna pen this big boy shot. But since we have RNG in WoT you might not pen. That’s why I play small gun on E100, that’s why I dislike JPz E100 and FV4005, that’s why I dislike all 440-alpha tier 8 HTs (50TP Prot., Defender, Mauerbrecher, VK100.01P, etc.) Give me small alpha, let me farm and I will be happy 🙂

  2. So if a tank is not played, it doesn’t deserve attention ?
    so T34, CDC, T54 Mod 1… don’t need a buff to get played ?
“buffing with an actual fanbase behind them” ????
i think panther 8.8 need a buff and it’s not the tank of the year but it’s gonna be playable

  3. Finally! I love this tank enough to play a second account back them to obtain it using the referral program before they take this one and the Jagd 8.8. Those two are some of my favorite tanks. Plus very recently WG gave that tank for free for just collecting tokens watching streamers. So a lot of people probably earn it.

  4. Can’t wait for the update. As imho the biggest buff is, that you can use the tank for ramming.
55kmh with little less than 50 tons 😉
Sounds like some funny moments when ramming a Prototipo or other glass tanks.

  5. The real issue with the Panther is not enough camo
    For a medium it’s catastrophic

    which has not been addressed

Plus all German tanks have negative game dispersion in WoT anyway
so when you shoot at them the shell magically curves through the air and hits it

  6. Even though these are buffs that any tank would love… it is a Panther 8.8… and even when World of Tanks on computer was a fresh game during 2012ish… everyone knew a Panther 8.8 was terrible then… and while it is still terrible with these new buffs… I commend anyone who plays one because that means you spent money on this game that does not care what anyone thinks of you. People who spend money on this game are to be loved not scorned because without us spending money even on Awful (Aufkl) Panthers… no one would have this game alive during 2026.

    1. true! Thanks to all collectors!!!
And the Panther has its strengths, too. Low shell damage, but extrem fast reload. This is nice for mission, where you need to damage internal modules.
I love it, as it reminds me of the good old times, when premiums tanks were always weaker than same tier tech tree tanks.

  7. the most buffed and rebuffed tank in WoT history, and it’s ALWAYS kept below average.
    LOLZ.
Still, a challenge is a challenge, and the biggest challenge is, how good is the rest of your random battle team?.
