Historical Reference:
The Pike heavy tank was intended for the British Army of the Rhine. It combined the chassis of the FV229 coastal defense tank with a turret from an unrealized West German heavy tank armed with a powerful gun. It was originally designed to counter Soviet IS-3 tanks.
