WoT: International Women’s Day – Female Playerbase Statistics

In connection with Women’s Day which is today (8 March), Wargaming has created a portrait of female players in World of Tanks.

On the eve of International Women’s Day, Wargaming conducted a World of Tanks survey in which two thousand playing girls took part. This is how the portrait of the average “tankgirl” was created.

The developer noticed that in quantitative terms the female part is clearly smaller than the male – 2% compared to 98%. Most of them work as managers, and the average age of girls is 26. The vast majority are brunettes, they listen to pop and rock music, watch comedies and science fiction. They prefer a sporty style of dress, and from sports they are interested in volleyball, football and car racing.

“Tankgirls” are active in the game community: more than half are clan members, and 70% transfer friends from World of Tanks to the real world. Only 6% pay special attention to the results in the game – women mainly play for pleasure and look for new friends. Over half of the respondents said that they did not hide their gender in the game. This provides them a special approach, full of compliments and mistake forgiveness.

About 60% of women surveyed are married. Half of them play World of Tanks with their spouse, helping him by playing tank destroyers. Most survey participants – 65% do not play anything other than World of Tanks, and play every day or several times a week.

  1. Please refrain from making chauvinistic comments, thank you.

I moderate here too. Have fun on the battlefield!

    1. The most chauvinistic and sexist comment is in the article itself: “Over half of the respondents said that they did not hide their gender in the game. This provides them a special approach, full of compliments and mistake forgiveness.”

Oh ok, so women admit to using their gender to gain special treatment from the playerbase. I guess inequality is nice when it works for you.

  2. “About 60% of women surveyed are married. Half of them play World of Tanks with their spouse, helping him by playing tank destroyers.”
    Awesome!

Would be nice if my wife would do some TD support instead of kicking me….

  3. I think it’s kinda counterproductive on International Women’s Day to call 26 year old women “girls”, focus on their hair color, and favorite type of dress. Is this satire?

  4. And nobody cares. WHAMEN can into tank. The only thing annoying about this is the white knights soyboys that will defend the maiden’s virginity especially from their own small pp if you ever dare to criticize a bad whamen player.

  5. Its interesting but hardly surprising.
Wot is a guys game… but then again… in Eve Online i met ONE lady… in uhhh 7 years? And she was just guest on teamspeak.
So wot has about 5000% more girls :p
    Isn’t that a nice statistic!

  6. How exactly did they check and made sure that those were women?
WG has a history of being incompetent retards.
