For the second Tank Myths article I have decided to talk about some myths on the Russian T-34. It’s considered by many a revolutionary tank and by far the best tank ever built during World War II. My personal opinion is that it was highly overrated and exaggerated.

Myth #1 – T-34 was the first tank ever to use sloped armour and nothing could penetrate it.
It is widely believed that the T-34 was the first tank ever to use sloped armour. However this is not true, French tanks like SOMUA S35 and R35, which had fully cast hulls and turrets, already had sloped armour. In World War I, sloped armour had been partially implemented by the French on their first tank, the Schneider CA1.
Other countries, like Germany, did some studies on the use of sloped armour before World War II and had several reasons not to use it:
We can correctly say, that it was the first mass produced tank to fully use the advantages of sloped armour, but it’s highly incorrect to say it was the first tank ever to use it.

In Throwback Thursday we’ll look back on some tank (historical) peculiarities. This week we’ll start with the Dutch Renault FT-17 and its fate throughout the war.
The Dutch might not be known for their extensive combat and resistance against the German invaders in May 1940. A little background insight will be given to show why the Dutch army was far from ready when Germany invaded.

Best Replays of the Week International are now actually being released weekly.
Maybe Wargaming saw my last post and decided to get them out more often… Enjoy.
Italeri has just released a new Model Kit line in partnership with World of Tanks. You can get four different models and each brings a Tank Guide, WoT Decals, Bonus Code (PC & Xbox Version) and 3 Invite Codes (PC Version). If you get all four of them you can get the Pz.Kpfw. IV Hydrostat a Tier V German Premium Tank with special Matchmaking.
Seems that all the noise created by the most recent Aimbot video out there, finally made WG EU Staff react. On my previous update, WG Staff replied to me agreeing that the mod is indeed illegal. Now someone else in WG EU Staff agrees that the mod this player was using is illegal, and some WG EU Staff didn’t send the correct information back to the players who reported this situation.
You can check the Official EU Forum Topic if you want to see everything. Also WG EU Staff kindly reminded us that there is an official stance on mods, and players should use common sense to figure out themselves which mods are illegal.

Hello everyone,
Wargaming replied to my questions and it seems I got a decent reply this time. If you haven’t read the previous posts, have a look at them:
– World of Aimbot – Update #1
– World of Aimbot
This time I got a more satisfying answer:

To my understanding, it depends on whom you get to look at your ticket and you will get different feedback from Wargaming. Other players sent me emails with their tickets to Wargaming and one of them got the following:
“This player is using autoaim improved/autoaim+, this mod is capable of aiming this way. Even though this mod can help with aiming, it is not considered a cheat or a illegal mod.“
It seems for someone at Wargaming that this is not Aimbot, it’s just an improved autoaim that does everything for you. But for the guy who replied to me, it’s an illegal mod.
Also, Wargaming has been receiving more and more complains about this issue, and doesn’t seem to be doing much. The problem is that they made it so easy for players to use illegal mods, that now they are getting the “tail back” of doing nothing for a long time. And it’s not improving, they still are trying to do nothing about it, and this will create more problems for the players who play “clean” and are actually good at the game.
I can understand the Wargaming point of view, if you receive thousands of tickets with people just making random accusations, it would make you care less and just not take these reports seriously. On the other hand, what they should do, is investigate these mods and do something about them. Not having an official stand on what mods are illegal or not is not helping the Community or even them.
So my quest is now over, I will not go back to them because it will be pointless. But I will check the player and see if anything has been done.
There is also a great resource on how to get aimbots in the popular game Fortnite. I’ll leave a link to it as well.

As many of you are aware, I have raised a ticket to Wargaming EU Support regarding the Aimbot video that was publishED today. If you haven’t seen the video and read my ticket to Wargaming, check the World of Aimbot post so you don’t miss anything.
I just got a reply back from Wargaming, and was I surprised with the reply? Hmmm…. No. I got the standard reply, that someone sitting on a chair, trying to decide if he should do some work for the day, just made his mind and copied & pasted it to my ticket and pressed send.
