WoWS Q&A – 13th October 2016

Thanks to Babykim, EU
Q&A from RU dated Friday, 7 Oktober
Source: http://worldofwarshi…question_dev_1/

Q: Will you limit the number of DDs to at least to 3 per side? The new economy rewards aggressive play, which is difficult with so many DDs around.
A: No.
1. Doing this will increase the average waiting time – a serious problem since nobody likes waiting.
2. Even if we assume that most players would wait, the excess destroyers will form a snowball that would lead to battles with incomplete teams, which is also bad.
The destroyers are popular, but so are the battleships. To address the issue we plan to make the cruisers more viable. The aggressive gameplay is still possible, just wait for the destroyers to begin skirmishing before attacking with capital ships.

Q: Will we able to sell unnecessary modules?
A: Yes, in a similar way you can sell upgrades. The automatic selling was introduced very early in the project, and appealed to the majority of players. But we understand that the player sometimes would want to sell them individually. We are currently working on this, so stay tuned for announcements.

WoWS: Public Test 0.5.13 – What To Expect

The Public Test will be running from 12 October at 16:30 UTC until 17 October at 13:00 UTC. Keep in mind that this is a testing environment, and unannounced maintenance and patch deployments can happen at any time during the Public Test phase.

What to expect in Public Test 0.5.13?

Key Attractions

  • Containers
  • Maps
  • Player Profile
  • Interface Changes

Containers

Daily missions are going to be replaced with a more sophisticated and interactive system of Containers, which deliver more value to the players. Now every player is able to receive up to three containers daily, with differing contents – from credits to rare Premium Ships. Containers drop when a player earns a certain amount of XP (considering all possible modifiers).

  • XP that can be used to open containers is added separately and in the same amount as ship XP – this way the player does not lose anything.
  • At the end of a 24-hour period, the containers are delivered to the player (if they have not taken them manually), the XP counter resets, and starts to accumulate again, starting the next 24-hour period.
  • There are four options for containers available:

WoWS : Crates are coming in 0.5.13

Thanks to Urakaze.
In patch 0.5.13, the daily mission system will be replaced by Crates.
-Crates will be refreshed on a daily basis like daily missions, but crates could be acquired 3 times a day, instead of one completion per day like missions.
-Players will be rewarded with a crate for each milestone reached (2000, 12500 and 37000 XP accumulated per day; placeholder for now)
-Crates do not expire; unopened crates will be stacked up
There are currently 4 types of crates:
-Credit crate
-Premium Consumable crate
-Signal Flag crate
-Random crate (Chances to win premium ships and other goodies)
The actual rewards in the crates are not known yet, but from gamescom footage, it is certain that only the “Random” crate will drop premium ships
Achievements
Since the crates are coming, we need more badges to fill our Achievements tab don’t we
-Get/Open 10 crates

Summary of a video by z1000 on best ships by tiers according to statistics from 25 percent sample of the RU cluster, as of today.
Source: https://www.youtube….h?v=sxH-dAu9lV4
This list is based purely on XP, damage and win rate, not personal impressions of the author.
The list of ships is in the decreasing order of goodness (>), the last ships in the list are the worst performers.
Separately on carriers, Japanese carriers perform better on all tiers, except tier 7 (Saipan)
Tier 2: Umikaze
Tier 3: Bogatyr > Nassau
Tier 4: Isokaze > Imperator Nikolai I
Tier 5: Fujin/Kamikaze/Minikaze > Gremyashchy > … > Bogue
Tier 6: Arizona > Cleveland > … > Bayern > Mutzuki > Ognevoi
Tier 7: Scharnhorst > Gneisenau > Blyskawica > Flint > Atlanta > … > Hatsuharu
Tier 8: Bismark > Mikhail Kutuzov > Atago > ARP Takao > … > Tashkent > New Orleans (Hipper and Eugen are also bad)
Tier 9: Friedrich der Große > Roon > … > Kagero > Baltimore
Tier 10: Große Kurfürst > Khabarovsk > … > Shimakaze > Des Moines
Summary of a video by getfun on the forthcoming reward crates, which have been showcased at Gamescom 2016.
Source: https://www.youtube….h?v=aT4VVkDHd7k
When a player accumulates 2.000, 12.500 or 37.000 XP, he can open a crate. The rewards include credits, doubloons, consumables, signals and (yet unspecified) random items. The Gamescom video shows that doubloons can only be received as a random item.
Some information (little new) from a recent stream by JamesWhite:
1. Complaints about the new economy slowly abate.
2. The RN cruisers are still being tested. They appear to have found an interesting niche for them.
3. The depot is forthcoming, but will be different than that in WoT.
4. Team battles will reappear after the introduction of clan functionality, to provide a stronger incentive for playing them.
5. The developers are thinking of a server-side replay functionality, i.e. replays will not be recorded locally but globally for all.
