The battle for Tankmas 2020 has come to an end. Both teams fought valiantly, completed plenty of Missions From Chuck, and collected points in an effort to keep evil at bay, or instead to spread mischief throughout the Holiday Ops village. However, there can only be one winner!

It’s time to set fire to the Tankmas Tree, burn down the Gingerbread House, and fill stockings with coal and ashes! Dr. Udestein and his army of naughty Commanders have taken over Tankmas! Team Dr. Udestein managed to accumulate a total of 829 396 points, thereby defeating Panzer Claus.

Congratulations to the winning team! Your commitment to the cause will go down in the history of Tankmas and, of course, you will be honored with the 3D style of your commander!

The “Vital Spark” style for the X UDES 15/16 Swedish Tier X medium tank will be credited to everyone who joined the event, no matter which team, and managed to complete seven Missions From Chuck in time. Object 268 V – Possible Black Market 2021 Tank?

With the release of Update 1.11, supertesters and developers began to test this old tank again, the Object 268 Version V. The vehicle reappeared in the garages of those interested. What’s also interesting – the tank was additionally tested during the last supertests, no changes were made then.

The Object 268 V has been in the game client for a very long time, at least since 2016, but it still hasn’t been introduced to the game. The first tests were carried out in February 2016. Since then, no changes have been made to it. Then, in Update 0.9.15, the vehicle was brought to the main server and handed over to the Supertesters.

Ultimately, the vehicle appeared only on the Chinese server as a premium / special tank, where it cost 2,000 yuan, or around $ 300.

Visually, the tank resembles a T-10 with a larger gun. The technical parameters have become so old that it would not be competitive in random battles at the moment.

Taking into account the tests that have already started, we expect several important buffs – we don’t know which parameters they may apply to, but it will happen soon. Taking into account the course and intensity of the tests, it can be assumed that the vehicle will enter the game within 3-4 months.

And as you know, there are some good opportunities ahead: winter event on the Global Map, Clash of Teams 2021 … and then only afterwards, Black Market 2021 will arrive.

WoWS – Update of commander skills: questions and answers

We would like to address several important questions and concerns you’ve raised about the upcoming update to the skills system.

Why didn’t you conduct a separate test for the new commander skills?

We decided to have a closed test and also to share any planned changes with you in advance. This allowed us to get valuable feedback and understand any further necessary steps.

Everyone will get a chance to try out the updated commander skills system in the Public Test for Update 0.10.0, which is starting soon. We’ll take advantage of this occasion to test the system’s technical stability.

A dedicated balance test hosted on a separate server, even if it were week-long, would not yield decisive results due to the following reasons:

  • A temporary test is too short a time period to try out the majority of ships and all the different possible builds for them;
  • Test servers rarely generate enough motivation for serious battles, to occur: there’s no risk of damaging individual stats, and winning does not influence account progress. Both of these are the most important motivators on the main server;
  • Only a rather small number of players would be ready to stop activity on the main server in favor of battles on the test server, so the sample wouldn’t be fully representative.

Regardless, for more precise and deep adjustments, we’ll need data from the main server. After the release of 0.10.0, we’ll watch player statistics and your feedback, and balance both skills and specific ships, if needed.
