WoT – Q&A 30.08.2017

Some more answers from the devs.

  • Work on the Grand Battle mode was long, the main problem being the optimalization
  • There’s a possibility Grand Battles will be enabled for tiers lower than X
  • In time, more Grand Battle exclusive maps will appear
  • Nebelburg will also be HDified
  • There’s the will to remove ‘unplayable’ guns from tanks
  • New CN prems soon
  • There are a few ideas on how to rebalance the KV-5
  • There will be new visual Havok elements in the HD maps, but don’t expect crumbling buildings
  • Track tracks (lol) won’t be one texture now, instead, they’ll be generated dynamically depending on the speed and angle
  • The vegetation will react to gunfire
  • Maps won’t be visually cut off after the red line. The fog will be removed and the horizon expanded to increase the realism
  • Map borders will be masked with an invisible wall or some other elements
  • Devs have the possibility of making night maps, but don’t see the sense of it
  • After the release of HD maps, the BigWorld engine will be officially retired. Ready maps – Mountain Pass, Redshire, Himmelsdorf, Abbey, Mines, Prokhorovka, Malinovka, Murovanka, and Cliff
  • It’s quite possible that a special ‘Ultra’ client may appear, with 8K textures, and with a whopping size of 100 GB
  • Devs tried not to toy around with the gameplay when making HD maps
  • The main task now is to optimize the graphics for medium and low range computers
  • The music for the new maps will be re-recorded, and it will react to the gameplay
  • This Fall, the HD map Sandbox will be opened up
  • With the appearance of the new mod system, cheats will disappear, since running the client with unauthorized mods will be impossible

The BTR-152 is a six-wheeled armoured personnel carrier designed in the Soviet Union in the early days of the Cold War. War Thunder – XA-38 Grizzly

https://static.warthunder.com/upload/image/!%202017%20NEWS/08%20August/XA-38/xa_38_04_1280h720_80855453ca99d9959d2f616c92cc5989_117feb55b59dcccadf521599adc09312.jpg

The XA-38 Grizzly was an experimental late-war American ground attacker design, that was intended to replace the aging A-20 Havoc. Although it was a promising design, a shift in priorities in the later stages of the war caused the project to ultimately be cancelled. Though the Grizzly never got the chance to show his sharp claws to the enemy in real combat, he will get a second chance to prove himself with War Thunder pilots in the upcoming 1.71 update!

WoT – Ranked Battle Q&A 26.08.2017

The devs have changed how chevrons are earned, and how long the season will last. The season is divided into three stages, each seven days long.

How to gain or lose chevrons:

  • You gain chevrons for being in the top 10 players in the winning team, by earned XP
  • Players at places 11-15 in the winning team and 1-5 on the losing team don’t lose chevrons
  • You lose chevrons if you’re in the last ten of the players of the losing team

Q: When will we be able to play Ranked Battles with tanks other than Tier X?
A: Ranked Battles are perceives as added content for players who already have a Tier X. Currently we don’t have plans to expand the mode with other tiers, but that will depend on the player opinions and statistics, which we will collect after the end of the second season.

Q: Can I do Personal Missions in Ranked Battles.
A: No. In the second season beta, some daily missions will be doable not only in Random Battles, but also Ranked Battles. Additionally, you’ll be able to obtain Mastery Badges.

Q: Soon, you’ll be able to gain Bonds in the Grand Battle mode, and in Tier X Random Battles. What purpose is there for Ranked Battles now?
A: We increased the rewards for this season, and compared to other modes, Ranked Battles offer significantly increased Bond acquisition speed.

War Thunder – Rank VI Early Details

For us, War Thunder is a bit of a shooting range for 20th century combat vehicles, an opportunity to see vehicles from various nations and of different designs in one battle, study their features and characteristics until we can recreate them more or less accurately, easy and comfortable to control and make them interesting in terms of gameplay. And post-war main battle tanks (MBTs) meet the criteria.
