With the release of Update 2.0, the 🇩🇪Leopard 120 Improved (MT-11, techtree, mechanic: Analog Ballistic Computer) will be released and become available for research in the tech tree after the Leopard 1.
Historical Reference
In the late 1970s, the German military considered installing the 120 mm smoothbore gun from the developing Leopard 2 onto all Leopard 1 tanks. This would have significantly increased their firepower. Various modernization options were examined, but after the start of serial production of the Leopard 2, the idea was abandoned in order not to create a shortage of guns and not to slow down the production rate of the new tanks.
