Log in, run a few battles, next thing you know an hour’s gone. Same maps, same tanks, but it still pulls you back in. There’s always one more upgrade sitting just out of reach, or a match that almost went your way. That loop is the whole thing. World of Tanks runs on it, and once you notice it, you start seeing it in places that have nothing to do with tanks.

WoT Supertest: Map with Local Mechanics – “Rust”

This map prototype was tested on the Supertest in two iterations (December 2025 and January 2026). Although “Rust” is technically classified as a new location by its index, it is actually a complete rework of the “Canyon” map from the 2021/2022 Recon Mission mode (technical name: 117_canyon). The map has been entirely transformed, including its setting.
Even at this stage, the prototype already looks quite atmospheric.

A wheeled tank project developed in West Germany in the late 1960s. The concept envisioned a fast and well-armed vehicle intended for reconnaissance and combating enemy armored vehicles. Its strong mobility characteristics were to be provided by a powerful and compact American V-type engine, an 8×8 wheel configuration, and an independent suspension system capable of “tank-style” turning.

Historical Reference:
The heavy tank “Object 701” was developed on the initiative of SKB-2 of the Chelyabinsk Kirov Plant in the period from July 1943 to February 1944. The first prototype of the “Object 701” tank No. 0 was manufactured in April 1944, and already in May–June the factory produced two more prototypes No. 1 and No. 2. Prototype No. 2 was armed with the 100 mm S-34 gun.
