WoT Supertest: Map with Local Mechanics – “Rust”

This map prototype was tested on the Supertest in two iterations (December 2025 and January 2026). Although “Rust” is technically classified as a new location by its index, it is actually a complete rework of the “Canyon” map from the 2021/2022 Recon Mission mode (technical name: 117_canyon). The map has been entirely transformed, including its setting.
Even at this stage, the prototype already looks quite atmospheric.

Local Mechanics on Maps
And the most interesting part is that this is the first map on the ST that was tested with so-called local mechanics. Not to be confused with local weather (by the way, what happened to that?)!

1st iteration of the map

  1. Elevators — interactive objects that allow vehicles to move and reposition during battle.
  2. Wall of Fire — an activatable area with a flame effect that deals damage.

2nd iteration of the map (local mechanics added)
3. Rocket Launches — there are two points located on the “green” flank (one for each team, positioned close to each other). At these points, players can launch rockets toward the opposite flank, where tank destroyer positions are located. To activate the launcher, the key position must remain captured for 10 seconds. Each point launches rockets into a predetermined zone.

• Technical name: 131_rust_ish (based on: 117_canyon)
• Local mechanics: 131_elevator, 131_fire_damage/131_fire_activator, 131_rocket_launch/131_rocket_damage
• Size: 1000×1000
• Map type: desert
• Setting: Middle East

  1. Elevators for tanks? Are you serious? Literally any nonsense instead of fixing MM. WG nightmare never ends…

  2. What is with the weathered maps? U can do it for the full map, not just 1 circle… Fog can be less visibility for all tanks, and rain and snow is just visual or/and the tanks move slower. (Soft terrain for the full map)
