Steel Hunter, the much-loved battle royale mode, is back with us again. From May 20 through June 2, prepare for free-for-all survival on ever-shrinking maps in eight mode-specific vehicles upgraded as the battle goes on. Expect intense rivalry and nice rewards, enhanced visual effects for multiple abilities, plus brand-new features making survival more social, including Platoon Voice Chat and Random Platoons. Team up with a stranger to become survival mates!

What’s New?

Random Platoons

  • Activate this option in the Steel Hunter Garage.
  • You will be assigned a mate with the best suitable skill level (as measured by Steel Hunter performance)*.
  • If you enjoy your random co-survivor’s company, you may offer to convert your Random Platoon to a regular Steel Hunter Platoon. This option is available on the battle results screen.
In case finding a Platoon partner takes longer than usual, the skill requirements may be eased.

Steel Hunter Platoon Voice Chat*

  • Use it while in a Random or a regular Steel Hunter Platoon.
  • If your Steel Hunter Platoon is a regular one, you can also use the voice chat in the Garage.
Voice chat must be enabled in the game settings. You can activate it by pressing a key designated in the key bindings menu.

Chat Wheel

  • Familiar to you from Random Battles and activated by the “Z” key by default, it can improve communication with Platoon mates if you cannot use the voice chat for some reason.

Visual Effect Changes to Combat Abilities

  • Can be applied to multiple vehicles, helping to tell whether Abilities are being used by an enemy or an ally.

Progression Rewards

Collect Progression Points and Steel Seals in Steel Hunter by playing well and also by completing event-specific daily missions. The Points will advance your Progression, with every Stage giving various rewards.

Items for Steel Seals

Exchange Steel Seals you receive in the mode for unique vehicle customization items! You can do this in the in-game Store until June 10, 2024 at 08:00 (CEST).

Changes to VFX and Abilities

  • Arlequin: The Airstrike Combat Ability now ignores armor; damage dealt and stun efficiency is maximal in the center of the blast zone and diminishes to its edges.
  • Visual effects of airdrops and all vehicles now interact with the terrain better.
  • The respawn visual effects have been enhanced for all vehicles.
  • The visual effects have been upgraded for several Combat Abilities:
    • Minefield (Varyag)
    • Trap and Target Tracking (Raven)
    • Acid Shell (Bái Láng)
    • Surging Fervor and Electric Discharge (Huragan); for the latter Ability, your own or your ally’s zone of effect is now visually distinct from those of the enemies.

    2. Yes, exactly. Steel hunter is not pay-to-win, has no arty, no op premium tanks, no op clan wars reward tanks, no shit teams, not even stock grinds. The gamemode is fair, and every game is equal. All the bad things in this damn game that you complain about only applies to pubs , and instead learning how to play this gamemode in like 10 mins, you would rather get arty’d and Bz’d in pubs because your zoomer attention span is not enough to read and learn for 10 mins. WG is actually at its best when they release a steel hunter event, because thats only time and way of playing wot as great game without all the bad things i listed about pubs above

    1. Too much cheating and rigging in Frontline compare Steel Hunter they cant do any of that
