WoT Supertest: Kpz. Pr.68 (P)

The Tier VIII German Kpz. Pr.68 (P) medium tank
is equipped with a hydropneumatic suspension that allows its hull to be tilted. The standard gun depression angle is –5 degrees, but the hydropneumatics improve this to –9 degrees. The hydropneumatic suspension is activated automatically.
The combination of hydropneumatic suspension and good damage per shot will appeal to those who prefer medium tanks with high alpha.

The Kpz. Pr.68 (P) is equipped with a 120 mm gun that deals 400 HP of damage per shot. The penetration value of the standard shell is 230 mm, while the special shell penetrates 300 mm. It has an aiming time of 1.8 s, a dispersion of 0.33 m, and a reload time of 15 s. Its view range is 390 m.
The armor thickness in the turret’s front reaches 90 mm. It has a top speed of 55 km/h, and its specific power is 19.6 h.p./t. The vehicle’s durability is 1,350 HP.

  1. well, my first thought was: German tank, so it does not the usual -8° gdp, alle tanks, even chinese get nowadays. with the article, it lookds bit better, but -9° gdp is not really that much, either. combined with the almost nonexisting armor, this thing will need really good bloom (which I doubt, taking into account the 120mm on a tier 8), because the aim time may be low, but you will still need to aim for years …

will keep an eye on this tank.

  2. It reminds me of the Leopard 1 L/44. Wonder if this may have been its prototype or concept.

  3. Would be really cool with a German tech tree line of heavies that arent super heavies. But i guess thats to much to hope for. Anyhow, hoping the get my hands on both this and the Tier X

  4. So…WG could’ve added a not-that-heavy HT line made entirely of Kpz projects from tier 8-10, and maybe one of the Porsche B-PS 100-series as tier 6-7 HTs to bridge.

Also, how thick would its hull roof armor be? Because if it’s thin enough, I can slip in an overmatch once it uses its hydropneumatics
