Murazor Notice

„With the 9.17.1 patch, a considerable amount of vehicles were buffed: Americans, Germans etc.

According to the Russian youtubers and target audience, various tanks’ stats have started to stand out and this increase is not very good.

Currently, statistics and information will be collected actively. After that, measures will be taken to correct some of these tanks. One of these examples is the Maus, which shows incredibly good stats!”

    1. Yes, yes they do. And they know full well how much they can milk the playerbase if they buff certain tanks that most players didn’t even consider having yet. And THEN they will nerf them.

  1. Who could have thought!?!

Not like anyone could not have seen it coming from miles away before hand. Cause that is hard and needs personal preferences and ego’s to be set aside to get a proper clear picture.

WG management ≥ like herding cats

  2. ROFLMAO It ain’t like it was all over the town before the buff went live, that the landbattleship Maus is broken as fuck. Noone is surprised except for WarGaming.

      1. ofcourse the performance improves too much. standard shell penetration for medium and heavy tanks is around 250/260. you give a tank armor that is equal or more than that, people will start complaining. im sure the type 5 will also receive its fair share of criticism.

      2. It didnt improved too much.
If a superheavy tank is considered OP because you cannot autopen it from the front of the turret (which is supposed to be one of the strongest area of any tank) then the game is simply fucked.

If WG never added gold ammo for credits players would always have needed to flank and never have taken the use of just always aiming at the front of ennemies because gold lolpens it all the time. Now as soon as killing an ennemy is harder than “press 2 and pen” players call the said ennemy tank OP. The problem is just that players are retarded and have no skill, that’s all.

        1. It did improve. The issue with Maus was it wasn’t able to do much damage, just soak it up. Now it can do insane amounts as I’ll show you later, and it’s able to soak up more. And since there are more superheavies around, the matches are a bit longer so the mobility, while still obviously an issue, is tiny bit less of an issue.

So, look at WGL (Wargaming League) – immidiately after the patch, on every map except Prokhorovka and maybe Murovanka, there are 3-4 Maus’s. They are often on top of DMG dealt table too, unlike before, where if they were taken, they were there just to punch through defense/soak up DMG and didn’t usually do much. So that is meta completely changed in a day from Batchats to Maus’s. Don’t you think it’s improved?

          How about this http://i.imgur.com/TUeq96E.png

This is a session of a guy from Wotlabs, mostly in Maus (some Type 5 and T9 by the looks of it thrown in). Yes, that is 75% winrate and over 5k damage, all solo. Those are numbers that are really hard to reach even if you solely focus on damage and play in a way where you use teammates. Maus can do this damage while providing an anchor/soak up damage. Also, Maus is incapable of doing early damage and cleanup damage, if it could drive 40km/h you could probably be hitting 5,5-6k damage marks.

Still don’t trust me? Head over to WoTreplays. You’ll find multiple matches with >15k damage blocked and loads of matches with over 8k dmg dealt.

In this state Maus is gamebreaking, although I actually fear pubbie reaction on it equally – I fear, since pubbies can’t damage the Maus and Maus eats them, they’ll go play arty/183 to do atleast something and randoms will become complete cancer, even bigger than now.

          1. That’s all interesting … but what does it mean “to provide an anchor”? That’s the first time I see this term, and I don’t do any WGL, so I’m really interested in a reply.

            1. Tank that’s intended to hold a position, while others “rotate” (flank, whatever you want to use). So you want it to have armor, hp, Maus now has the addition of good side armor (so it can do well even in slight crossfire) and gun so people are reluctant to rush it since it’ll do quite a lot of DMG back. Rotational tanks are mobile and do lot of DMG – Bat, TVP and 50b mostly (and their T9 counterparts)
Anchor’s – Maus, IS-4, IS-7, 215b (rare) and Kranvagn in hulldown situations. 113 (and WZ 1111111111-4) are kinda hybrids – hulldown/sidescraping/covering LFP they can hold decently well, but they are mobile to flank around and push, have good DPM and decent HP to take a shot.

                1. Eh, E3 is used from time to time, issue with it is that it only works in specific position. It cannot sidescrape, not hulldown it’s not that powerful, sides are garbage… It only works in narrow lanes. On most maps you’d be simply able to ignore the E3. Lack of HP is also an issue in (what was anyway, before Maus buff) enviroment filled with autoloaders.

                  Like

          2. Maus could go with less HP with strengthened turret and faster reload… It is the extra HP that broke the Maus. With HP buff alone the maus would still be bad

            Like

            1. Type 5 and Maus are the same problem right now : they were crap because everything could pen them when they were supposed to be the best armored tanks in the game. All WG needed was to buff the armor, which they did well. The firepower buff however was not needed in either case : Maus is now a dpm monster which makes it too strong considering how tough it is now ; and Type5 has an OP derp gun with a pay2win gold like FV183.
If they plan to nerf them then it must be on the gun stats. Maus needs longer reload and Type5 needs gun cancer. If they touch the armor they’ll throw them back to a useless level like they did with T110E5 (remember E5’s cupola was oroginaly buffed because it made the tank too weak, and they’re putting it back to autopen level…)

  3. I an really curious why they hurry to collect data to see it those tanks are indeed OP, but leave the T67 as it is for 5 years now.

I wonder what is the reason behind its nerf immunity

      1. Who cares about “meh” viewrange and armor? Put binos, camo net, camo-trained crew and you won’t be spotted 200m away while shooting with that insane ROF. And even if the ennemy happened to close the distance, just run avay and start again.

There is a good reason why in every Tier 5 there is one/several of those: as long as you understand the basic concept of “don’t brawl, stay at range”, you can pad mad wn8/wr in this pesky machine.

PS: the E25 also has rubbish armor and even with prefMM, it doesn’t have a turret and a way worse penetration for its Tier than the T67. No reason not to sell the E25 again, right? 🙂

  4. I still lolpenned a t57 heat clip into perfectly angled maus turret, so maybe yuno, nerf premium ammo instead of buffing the shit out of hts? I almost felt sorry for that guy but hey, whatever wg gives me to win a game.

    Liked by 1 person

    1. That’s the thing. On many tanks they buff the armour enough to stop standard shells, but nowhere as high to stop premium ones.

Maus armour is not OP but broken. Same with many other tanks. But I guess that may be exactly what WG wants: higher cost of running tanks due to increased prem ammo usage, so hopefully players will buy prem accounts, prem tanks or even credit bundles from the prem shop.

    1. Buffing is7 is problematic because it sacrifices all of it’s stats to get that turret. You know what happens when a tank with such a turret gets good other stats? E5 golden age.

      1. I’m not suggesting a IS-7 buff, it’s balanced and still one of the idiot-proof/newbie-friendly tanks. However the tomatoes on RU fail to play it well, blame it on other non-russian tanks being good, send complains to WG……

    1. Yet it’s 2017 and people still believe in russia bias, lol.
Maus got itself in a really weird place. It can deal out insane punishment with that dpm + durability but at the same time it’s still kind of a farm when it can’t control the engagement completely.

      1. Russian tanks are op for years, no one bats an eye, one German tanks get op, everyone loses their mind.

        Russian bias theory totally destroyed.

  5. The Maus has to stay a year that way like the E5. Why it should be faster to collect data for the Maus than for the E5? 🙂

And please nerf the HE guns of the Type 5. This is a fucking retarded tank right now. Can be played by the fucking tomatos and fuck up your game completly.

This balance is dumb fucking shit.

    1. Naaaaa give it a 190mm gun instead that deals 1750 damage 125mm pen and 8 meter splash 😀 and while you at it give the gold shell that deals 2000 150pen and a 4 meter splash because lulz

  6. Normal logic: We can test new updates in Public Test clients to see if stats are balanced or not before releasing the patch to public.
WG logic: Throw everything to live server and nerf them afterwards even after 3 weeks of common test.

Normal logic: American tanks are meant to be hulldown monster with weak lowerplates. Why not make them like that ?
WG logic: E5 is weak because of its cupola so it and also buff the LFP because reasons -> E5 is OP so nerf the cupola but let the lowerplate be RNG so this tank has absolutely no point in being played anymore.

Normal logic: Maus is a huge but slow piece of unpenetrable armor that tanks hits and fires slowly.
WG logic: …also give it insane dpm.

Normal logic: Players are complaining that arty is not fun because it either oneshots you or ruins you even without hitting. Also FV18 is OP when using HESH.
WG logic: is that a 1.4k dmg gold HE I see here ? Give it to heavy tank, and don’t forget the armor matters !

Normal logic: Grille15 is too fast for a TD and the laser accuracy is overkill.
WG logic: Give it worse dpm than tier 9.

9.17.1 is the most useless patch we had in a while. 9.17 was rather nice I think, 9.17.1 took all the fun away turning some fun tanks into shit and some shit tanks into OP monsters.

      1. I’m not, and I’m starting to wonder if the apes WG hired are ; because if that’s not a requirement to design their game then I’ll totaly apply.
Between this, and the 2 sandbox tests to understand that if they nerf accuracy people will miss more and that if they nerf pen but dont nerf gold it wont affect anything.
A 5 years old could guess that. They needed a dedicated test server twice in order to understand it.

And now they release a patch after 3 weeks of testing and after 3 days they realise that maybe some buffs were too extreme.

  7. So I dont understand- several weeks was public test server and there was everything Ok with balance, now after 3 days of release version they say- mmmh, something wrong, we have to review it. Joke?

    1. It was not ‘Ok’, it just looked like that.
Because test server environment is infested with premium apccr/heat spamming yolo-folks. That is a bad way to test stuff 😛

  8. By any chance, isn’t that caused simply by the fact that everybody is now playing Maus, unicums included because after patch they finally have the reason to wipe the dust from it? because noone above average was playing with that monster for months? I also play it only for the missions recently, and now when they actually added some fun aspects to it they are going to nerf it.. well played, wg, well played

    1. Not only that, the statistics are based on the live server environment now. Here it also meets -2 tiers and every man and his dog fires 100% premium, so the picture can change drastically compared to the T10 infested premium spamming environment of the common test server.

  9. Maus is not very popular but it did not need the extra hp. Strengthening turret cheeks and improving RoF was more than plenty

  10. Honestly I didn’t fire the game up since patch. T9-10 is broken because of overbuffed superheavies, T8 and below is broken coz Defender, SH’s are broken completely because of multiple reasons (“Skill-based MM”, bugs, pretty much mandatory airstrikes).

      1. Yeah, learn to flank and learn to bounce 750 dmg shots from camping td’s, because that’s what you risk when flanking. Basic knowledge, really, right?

        Like

        1. Yeah, because flanking should be without any risks to the flanker, right? Damn those TDs for supporting the push instead of charging out and “fighting like men”.

  12. buffs to Pz4S and T-34-85M were great
buff to maus…..for the turret sure. but the lower plate…….no.
    japanese heavies. no comment
obj 252 is OP as fk. we used it in CW, the enemy bounces an insane ammount of shots on it to the extent it was an ANNIHILATION.
new tier 8 german heavy. seems a bit to strong, but once people go on the offensive against it quickly becomes a liability, so it balances itself out right now.

overall….WG is making the tier spread feel worse and worse. as tier 8 becomes worse and worse vs tier 10.
and tier 6 becomes worse and worse vs tier 8.

making the game feel more frustrating rather than improving the experience.

This feels like worst update for all other but heavily armored vehicles.
