Supertest: Emil I

Swedish Tier 8 (regular)

Heavy tank prototype, developed for the Swedish army within the framework of the EMIL project in the ’50s. The designers decided to use components of the AMX 13 tank, as indicated by the design and appearance of the turret. In 1951 a prototype was prepared, but the project was abandoned in favor of the later versions of the vehicle.

  1. is this WG trying to do inverse WTE100’s? super big gun, 5 shells autoloader, decent turret armor that can give bounces, alot of depression.

how that could end bad? =P

  2. jesus christ. i want to know the effective armor of the turret when its looking down at -15 deg down at you… this tank looks like its going to be OP hull down

      1. In this case, not quite. The front of the turret is actually stationary, like normal turreted tanks. However, the gun and rear part of the turret move up-or-down like an oscillating turret.

Basically, there’s a big shield covering the front of the turret instead of having only the turret ring stationary, unlike conventional oscillating turrets, which should make things interesting.

    1. At -15 the turret is pretty much unpennable, maybe with T9/10 TD’s prem ammo.
My rough estimates of the armor against AP –
      UFP – 100mm/64 degrees ~ 195-200mm effective
      LFP – ?125?mm/46 degrees ~ 165-170mm effective
turret – ?180?mm/45 degrees ~ 235mm effective (245 vs APCR, 255 vs HEAT), when using max gun depression it’s 315AP/340APCR/360HEAT.
I’m bad at judging armor by the colors and angles are rough estimates, no bulli pls :'(

  3. With that power to weight and turning mobility, it will be a big, autoloader Hellcat, no?
Can’t wait to grind it out and equally get obliterated and obliterate the pubbies with it!…

  4. Looking the stat of this ugly thing, I think the meta status of AMX 50 100 will end when this arrives.
godlike -15 depression + well armored turret with 1 less shell and bit slover speed VS moderate depression, meh armor and retarded french gun handling. Yup Emil sounds handsdown better.

  5. I feel like there are a few drawbacks of this tank:1. Dpm is quite bad 2. Aim time is quite bad 3. Reload between shells (3.75) is horrible for an autoloader. But besides that this tank is going to be OP so yeah ill be saving up my free exp to get this thing as sson as possible
