EU, ASIA, NA, RU: Rampage Mode, Personal Missions to be Removed

Edit: CONFIRMED on RU, NA and EU

Breaking news from Asia! (HUGE thanks to the person who sent me this, Trankie00!)

Commanders,

Having gathered a lot of your feedback and suggestions from past couple of months, we came to the conclusion that Rampage mode does not meet fully the community’s expectations and still requires some work to be done.

Minding the amount of feedback received, as well as the timespan of Rampage battles being available, we now have a lot of credible data to work with and see in which regards the game mode does not perform as well as it should and why it’s not as popular as it could have been. As a result, we have decided to pull Rampage battles from the game in the next Update.

While Rampage battles will be removed, the mode introduced many new gameplay features (respawns, multi-team battles, being able to enter a battle with multiple tanks to name but a few). This opened great possibilities for further development of World of Tanks. This means that these features may be reintroduced to the game in the future, in part or in whole, possibly as a vastly improved version of the Rampage battle mode.

Personal missions for Rampage mode will also be disabled. All rewards acquired by completing the missions will naturally remain in the players’ possession. There will be no compensation for missions that have not been completed by the time the two Rampage mission sets are removed.

Ravaged Capital and Berlin Maps

The maps Ravaged Capital and Berlin, which are currently Rampage mode exclusives, will be reworked and reintroduced to the game for rotation in Random battles in the future.

About the Mission Rewards

The T-22 medium – the main reward for personal missions in Rampage – will remain on the accounts of players who managed to obtain it before the game mode’s withdrawal.

However, the tank will undergo rebalancing in the next update, in order to make it perform adequately in Random Battles and to even out its performance in comparison to its Tier X peers.

T-22 medium: Balancing Details

CollapseThe T-22 medium is a multi-purpose vehicle that bears all the defining features of Soviet medium tanks, and also has outstanding armour due to the special hull design. These characteristics cause the tank to outperform its peers in battle, so it has been decided to review the characteristics of this vehicle and balance its features to match the level of researchable medium tanks of Tier X. However, the T-22 medium will get to keep its excellent armor, and the players who earned it will still possess a vehicle that is not only powerful, but also unique.

Preliminary list of changes:

  • Decrease of the vehicle’s dynamics via tweaking ground resistance on all types of terrain;
  • Increase of aiming time from 1.9 to 2.2
  • Decrease of accuracy from 0.33 to 0.36
  • Increase gun dispersion during turret traverse from 0.08 to 0.1
  • Increase gun dispersion during hull traverse from 0.08 to 0.1
  • Decreased turret traverse speed from 48 to 40 degrees per second.

Important: Depending on test results, the proposed changes may be amended when the rebalancing is implemented.
