WOT Express: Why WoT Hasn’t Released New Maps in 2 Years

So, when will there be new maps in WoT?

In continuation of last night’s post about maps, we expect at least one new map (or a remastered one in HD) for random battles as part of the 2.0 update, and one more map for random battles in 2025. (Currently, there is more than 1 location for random battles).

But why haven’t the WoT developers released ANY new maps for random battles in 2 years?

WOT Express: No New Maps Added by Developers in the Last 2 Years

This year World of Tanks set many anti-records and one of them is new maps.

Never before in the history of the game has there been a whole calendar year without a single new map added for random battles! At first, WG stuck to the plan of 2 new (or returned to HD) maps per calendar year, then the bar was lowered to 1 map, and what do we have now…
The last NEW map introduced was “Oyster Bay”, dated February 2023, patch 1.20. And that’s it. In 2024, we will NOT get a single new location for randomness. And in 2 months, in February 2025, it will be 2 years since the introduction of this last map.

WoT 1.27 Common Test: Vehicle Changes (DZT-159, Chrysler MTC 2TC, Gabler’s Destroyer, XM57, FV226 Contradictious, Vz. 68 Squall, Toro)

Two tanks are completely ready for release. One of them, as we predicted, will be released after years of service. ( t.me/c/1925227397/249 )

The rest have had their performance characteristics adjusted, and for good reason. Pay special attention to the 🇨🇳 DZT-159 . This tank is being Buffed for a reason. And it could become the most desirable in the future event.

DZT-159 (China, Tier-9, MT, premium, mechanics: rocket boosters). Change relative to iteration 2 of the 1.27 Common Test.
Firepower:
• Gun loading: from 12.94 to 11.79 sec
• Rate of fire: from 4.64 to 5.09
• Accuracy at 100 m: from 0.40 to 0.38

WoT RU 1.31 Common Test: Vehicle Changes

  • The aiming time of the 12.8 cm Kanone 40 gun has been changed from 2.5 sec to 2.1 sec;
  • The ammunition capacity of the 12.8 cm Kanone 40 gun has been changed from 15 to 20;
  • Maximum forward speed changed from 25 km/h to 30 km/h;
  • Maximum reverse speed changed from 12 km/h to 14 km/h;
  • The engine power of the Maybach HL 116 S has been changed from 310 hp to 360 hp.

You can put 3D attachments into several special slots on an ever-growing list of vehicles, mix and match them, and combine them with any 2D styles and other 2D customizations. You will be able to get the first 3D attachments during Holiday Ops 2025.
