WG is developing a new console game

– Wargaming has officially confirmed that they started developing a new project for consoles.

A few days ago on the page of one of the leading members of the WG St. Petersburg office the following post was published:

“Friends!
To date, we kept it a secret, but it’s time to tell! Team Wargaming in St. Petersburg starts work on a new project for PS4 and Xbox One.
We open lots of exciting vacancies: for those who have already proven themselves in game development or just wants to get there.
Vacancies for professionals with console experience: Technical Director, Lead GD, QA lead, Game Designer.
Other hot jobs: Game designer, 3D Tech artist, Client / Technology programmer, Sound programmer, UI, Tech Art, GL programmer, Server programmer, Deploy & Automation, QA Compliance, Core technology QA, Core gameplay QA.
We are also expanding our PC business (our flagship project, World of Warships) and Mobile. Full list of vacancies here: https://vk.cc/6KxxSU

Join the Wargaming gaming universe!”

Yes, most likely we are talking about World of Warships on PS4 and Xbox One. According to our information, in early May, key figures in WG have been forwarded to the St. Petersburg office and moved to a new position to maintain this direction. Why not give the development to the American office, which already had experience porting the game? Well, let’s see what Wargaming Saint Petersburg (Lesta Studio) can do in terms of consoles and if World of Warships Console will turn out fine.

WoWS: Tier 6 Ranked Battles Coming Soon (EU)

WG staff member Kandly requested videos from T6 ships in order to make a video out of them. And added „since the next ranked season is closing”. This was posted on the announcements channel of the King of the Sea tournament’s discord.

We can only deduce out of this that EU will have T6 ranked battles too.

Some explanations about the penetration mechanic in relationship to the changes for German guns by developer BadPreacher.

Source: https://forum.worldo…comment-3578275

Let us start with HE. The penetration is computed according to the 1/6 or 1/4 caliber rules, rounding to the nearest whole number. The resulting number is the armor thickness that the HE shell cannot penetrate. For example, for a 152mm HE shell we get approximately 25.334 (152/6), which rounds to 25, meaning that 25mm will not be penetrated, but 24mm or thinner will be.

The 1/4 rule in 0.6.6 for German guns applies as follows:

1. Main battery: all battleships and cruisers of tiers 4-10,

2. Secondaries of 128mm and 150mm caliber: all battleships of tiers 7-10, and cruisers Roon and Graf Spee.

Turning to the AP. The penetration is computed according to the 14.3 rule, without rounding. Divide the gun caliber by 14.3. A bounce cannot occur if the result exceeds the thickness of the armor. The check for penetration accounts for the impact angle (normalization), so that the normalized line-of-sight thickness* of amour applies. Consequently, even if the shell did not bounce it may fail to penetrate the armor.

*) Quote Wikipedia: For example, armour sloped sixty degrees back from the vertical presents to a projectile travelling horizontally a line-of-sight thickness twice the armour’s normal thickness.

RN BBs and Radar:

Question: Why will the Royal Navy BBs have radar? It completely removes the teamplay aspect of countering DDs, and renders cruisers obselete.
Answer: I cannot answer your question, because at the moment there is absolutely no confirmation, even inside dev team, that RN BB will have radar. Testing any kind of loadouts on internal / ST stage does not promise anything. Honestly, I don’t think this loadout will make to production. But we will see how balancing of this line goes.

Question:Can you explain us the reason behind giving the RN High Tier BBs radar? [shortened] Exactly, a T10 Soviet BB with Smoke. That was a [edited]JOKE!!!! We never thought that it could become reality but at the moment it is more possible than ever. Why every line needs a consumable which was originally designed for another class? Why can’t you just make a line different just by their stats? A new line doesn’t even has to be very special, if you try to do everythig special it will end in a deasaster. Just change some small nuances, it would be enough.
Answer: No, because this is unconfirmed leaked information. I will gladly talk about RN BB Radar, but only if and when I know there are chances this loadout makes to release. For now, it’s internal testing and internal business…not even on ST.
