Other Changes and Improvements

  • Fixed an issue which caused Visby’s single-barrel guns to reload faster than her twin guns. The reload time of all her guns is now 7.5 seconds.
  • Fixed an issue which caused memory leaks when accessing the built-in browser in the game client.

But wait! That’s not all yet! Tomorrow, we’ll share the details of yet another surprise that’s coming your way!

WoWS: Legacy Launcher to be replaced by Wargaming Center

Over the last few years, we’ve been constantly updating the Wargaming Game Center (WGC) to enable us to deliver the ultimate player experience. Some of you have been on this journey with us, and have witnessed the WGC becoming not only a game-launching platform, but also an important communication tool that delivers the latest game news, updates, and special events.

While there is always room for improvement, we’re delighted with what has been achieved and how WGC is currently performing.

If we look at the numbers—in 2019 we carried out 24 major updates, touching on functionality, user-experience, and the game login system. All these updates have shaped the Wargaming Game Center into the form we’ve come to appreciate so much.

So, what’s next?

We would encourage you to join the enormous community of players on the WGC, if you haven’t joined them in using it already, as more updates and cool news are on the way.

Meanwhile, we would like to let everyone know the following: starting from May 20, we’ll no longer support the Launcher due to technical reasons. This means that the Launcher will no longer be available for download for those who might be inclined to log in to the game that way. All players currently using the Launcher will automatically be moved to the WGC.

After the transition, all players—no matter whether you’ve switched to the WGC or not—will be granted some amazing in-game items.

ST, changes to test ships

Please note that all information in the development blog is preliminary and subject to change during testing. Showcased features may or may not end up on the main server. Any final information will be published on our game’s website.

New Soviet Tier IX battleship Zarya Svobody was added to the game for testing. This ship is based on the Soviet battleship Sovetsky Soyuz. At the moment, the concept of the ship involves the following changes:

Zarya Svobody will have the accuracy settings standard for tier IX battleships, the AA defense parameters and model of S. Soyuz (A) hull and Hit Points and maneuverability of S. Soyuz (B) hull.

  • Accuracy settings for the main caliber guns are adjusted to the standard settings for tier IX battleships.
  • Sigma parameter increased from 1.7 to 1.9.

Japanese battleship Asama, Tier VIII:

  • Main battery reload time increased from 30 to 33 s;
  • Sigma parameter increased from 1.8 to 1.9.

Increasd main battery reload time and accuracy upgrade will emphasize the difference between Asama and her prototype – Japanese Tier VIII battleship Amagi.

PT, European destroyers’ torpedoes and balance changes

The base torpedo modules of Tier V-IX researchable European destroyers will become researchable. The new base torpedo module parameters for each ship will be equal to those of the researchable torpedo module of the previous tier destroyer.

In case you already have one of these European destroyers in Port, the researchable torpedo module will already be mounted on the ship, and the base module will be moved to the Inventory.

This change will make the advancement of European destroyers’ torpedoes consecutive, like with other nations’ torpedo destroyers.
