WoWS: How WG Chooses Your Santa Gift Ship, And Why You Will Probably Get Makarov

Source: hmsmanchester

If you’ve been following the initial reports of Santa big gift results, you will probably notice something odd: a flood of Makarovs, the tier 6 Soviet Nurnberg, have graced those lucky enough to get a ship. This is not a bizarre coincidence – it is a consequence of the way Santa gifts allocate ships. It is complicated, but I am going to try my best to explain it.

Say you win a ship.

Hooray! However, is the ship you win truly random? WG explains that:

If a ship that you already have in your Port is dropped, the Santa’s Big Gift container will be replaced by a supercontainer. The latter will contain another ship from the list along with a Port slot and Commander with 10 skill points.

While confusingly worded, they do allude to the fact that, in the first instance, you do not receive a ship from the whole pool of available premium ships. Rather, you receive a ship from a select shortlist (which differs depending on box type), and you will receive it in a Santa crate box, NOT a supercontainer.

You only get a drop from the whole list of available ships if you roll a shortlisted ship which you already have in port or in a previously purchased crate. If this happens, you receive a ship from the entire pool in a supercontainer. Lower tier ships are likelier to drop from the supercontainer.

Wargaming and the Cyprus Passports – More Info

The Cypriot authorities found violations in the issuance of “golden passports” to Wargaming employees.

The 64 Wargaming employees who received Cyprus Golden Passports during 2014-2017 did not meet the investment program criteria. This was announced by the auditor general of Cyprus (Odysseas Mikhailides) in an official report.

The fact that Wargaming employees received “golden passports” in violation of the terms of the Cyprus investment scheme was reported on December 1 by the Cypriot edition of Stockwatch with a link to the interim report of the Audit service. The report was published by the Auditor General of Cyprus Odysseas Mikhailides on November 27: it does not mention the name of the Wargaming company, but mentions a certain “company A”, but Mikhailides informed the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Attorney General of Cyprus which company is in question, says Stockwatch.

• The company with Belarusian roots Wargaming, which is the developer of the popular game World of Tanks and is headquartered in Nicosia, employs 400 people, it is the second largest shareholder of Hellenic Bank with a 20.6% share. In addition, Wargaming is one of the largest tax residents in Cyprus, which has invested tens of millions of euros in the republic, says Stockwatch.

WoWS: Santa’s Gift Containers

Source: EU Portal

PS: You can’t get any of the 100 ships unless you already own at least one of the 3 ships on the shortlist. YOU WILL NOT GET ANY OF THE RARE SHIPS.

The festive cannonade is getting closer—Santa’s containers have arrived in World of Warships.

Every festive Santa’s Gift container will bring you something of value: Coal, doubloons, signals, or even a Premium ship. This year, more ships have been added to the list of Premium ships, and you have chances of becoming the owner of the following rare ships: IV Imperator Nikolai I, V Gremyashchy, V Kamikaze, V Fūjin, V Giulio Cesare, VII Flint, VII Belfast, VIII Mikhail Kutuzov, and VIII Enterprise; plus the following Tier IX ships: IX Neustrashimy, IX Missouri, IX Musashi, Kronstadt, IX Benham, IX Jean Bart, IX Pommern, IX Ägir, IX Georgia, IX Alaska, IX Azuma, and IX Friesland.

It’s important to point out that next year, ships IV Imperator Nikolai I, V Gremyashchy, V Fūjin, V Giulio Cesare, and V Kamikaze will not be included in Santa’s containers. Don’t miss your chance to get rare Premium ships!

WoWS ST 0.10.0, changes to new skill system

We would like to thank you for your feedback that allowed us to improve the new commander skill system! Today would like to update you on the changes we’ve made since the initial announcement.

Please note that all information in the development blog is preliminary. Announced adjustments and features may change multiple times during testing. The final information will be published on our game’s website.

Summary of the new skill system features:

  • Each commander will have a separate skill section for each ship type. Skill points are distributed separately within each section.
  • Only the skill set for the ship type being played is active in battle.
  • As skills have become more specialized, and their total number has increased, the maximum number of skill points was increased from 19 to 21

We are planning to update the skill system in update 0.10.0

What has changed?

Economics

  • The cost of retraining for doubloons was reduced from 750 to 500 doubloons.
  • As commander retraining now costs half the amount of XP, the ability to accelerate retraining time using credits was removed.
  • Commanders with less than the maximum number of skill points (<21) will earn additional Elite Commander XP equivalent to 5% of the received commander XP.
