[War Thunder] T26E4 Super Pershing: Under a Panther Mask

War Thunder has confirmed another new vehicle to be introduced in Update 1.57.  This time, much to everyone’s surprise, it’s a regular heavy tank available for research in US main tech tree, and it’s the T26E4 Super Pershing!

The American M26 Pershing was deemed insufficient to counter the newly developed German armors, such as Tiger II (H) and Jagdtiger, as it lacked protection and weapon performance. As a result, in January 1945, a T26E1 Pershing was rearmed with a new 90 mm Gun T15E1 L/73, directly developed from 90 mm M3. The tank itself was redesignated as T26E1-1 after receiving the new gun.
Because of the sheer gun weight, the rear part of the turret had a counterweight welded on. But since it was still too heavy, coil springs were placed on top of the turret that allow the tank to balance its weight during firing.

Army Ordnance Department didn’t want to lose their fresh prototype during its first combat trial. And so, after arriving at Europe, it was field modded by the maintenance unit before being assigned to one of the tank crews of the Third Armored Division.
2x 38 mm thick boiler plates were reinforced to the front hull, and an 88 mm RHA plate was welded in front of its turret, taken from a knocked out panther (literally “Under a Panther Mask”).

The heavy T26E4 Super Pershing, armed with very powerful gun which extends out from the vehicle for over 4 meters, will take its place in the heavy US tank line at rank IV, right before T32. This tank is sure to be liked by all fans of American armoured vehicles. Look for the T26E4 Super Pershing on the battlefields of War Thunder in update 1.57. See you there!

Yes, it’s literally a regular heavy tank, not premium medium tank. (CipherN)

World of Aimbot

Welcome to World of Tanks Aim Bot.

I’ve been doing some research on cheats or illegal mods as some call them, for World of Tanks, to see to what extension this is actually affecting the game. To my surprise, a friend of mine that plays for OMNI, sent me this video from laponaK OMNI a member of the same clan. What you are just about to see, it will leave you without any comments or most probably will confirm what you have suspected for a long time. Those strange skill shots some players do? Seems no skill is required to do them.

I’ve contacted laponaK and he was kind enough to send me the actual replay file. So, I have sent a ticket to Wargaming with the video, the replay and a long letter asking for some official feedback regarding this.

The British ground vehicle tree

We are introducing starter ground vehicles for the British tree, which will appear in the next major update.

With the starter vehicles, we are planning on introducing five specific lines:

  • Self-propelled AAA and anti-aircraft tanks.
  •  Light and cruiser tanks.
  •  Medium tanks.
  •  Infantry and heavy tanks.
  •  Tank destroyers and self-propelled guns.

Some British love for the defence from airborne attacks against your tea drinking colleagues on the ground. These two Crusader variants will have you downing the enemy and giving some ground based foes some grief.

Crusader AA Mk.I

Vyacheslav “BVV_d” Bulannikov, Game Designer:

This SPAA is truly dangerous. The legendary 40mm Bofors anti-air cannon installed on a Crusader tank turret served with great effect in the Second World War. The cannon is capable of dealing with enemy aircraft as well as any fighter aircraft can, if not better. It is also worth trying to shoot at tanks – the cannon won’t let you down. On the other hand, try to keep this tank out of the enemy’s’ sights. This AA gun’s armour isn’t its best feature.

T17E2 – Armoured car

Vyacheslav “BVV_d” Bulannikov, Game Designer:

Built on the base of an American armoured car, the T17. This is a vehicle with excellent mobility – it is capable of reaching over 55 mph (88 kph) whilst driving on the road! This armoured car may become the fastest armoured vehicle in War Thunder. The T17E2 is armed with 2 coaxial Browning M2 .50 calibre heavy machine guns mounted on a rotating turret. This machine will be the first British SPAA and the first armoured car introduced in War Thunder.

War Thunder – [Development] A34 Comet I and A30 Challenger

http://static.warthunder.ru/upload/image/Dev%20Blog/aces-dev%202015-10-02%2013-51-22-2141.jpg

A34 Comet I

Vyacheslav “BVV_d” Bulannikov, Game Designer:

The A34 Comet was a further development of the Cromwell tank. This excellent tank that the British High Command considered the best in its class weighed 33 tons, while its firepower was greater than any other Allied tank of the time. The only similar tank in the British armed forces was the Sherman Firefly. However, it was far inferior to the Comet in everything apart from the armour penetration of its main armament. The Comet was armed with a modernized 17pdr anti-tank cannon that had already shown its effectiveness as a field artillery price. The turret armour also saw significant improvements. The Comet inherited its chassis from the Cromwell. The tank accounts for itself rather well against 3rd and even 4th rank opponents, even though it can have low survivability due to the badly chosen angle of sloping of its armour. The right combination of the mobility with its weapon make the Comet a dangerous tank and a fearsome SPG hunter.
