Update 1.13: Common Test 2 Is Here! (+ Patchnotes)

PS: I’m super busy until 10 June, please excuse the lack of articles. After that, it should get better, university finally ends at the end of this month.

Common test 1.13 is in full swing! Common tests provide us with valuable feedback that help us prepare for the release of the update to the main servers. Many changes have already proven their value and usefulness to World of Tanks and players alike, but there are several questions that still need answering.

We would like to thank you for your involvement so far, and tell you about the additions to the mechanics of inflicting damage with HE shells which we wish to add to CT2. We are ready to answer frequently asked questions and consider suggestions you may have.

What will change during CT2?

Important: The effective penetration of the HE shell after passing through spaced armor will be reduced. In the previous version of the mechanics, the drop in armor penetration depended on the thickness of the screen. Now, the reduction will depend on the thickness of the screen and a multiplier.

Our main goal since the first Sandbox was to reduce the damage dealt to tanks frontally and succeeded. Now, we want to balance the penetration chance and amount of damage done to more vulnerable areas on a vehicle, usually covered by spaced armor (screens, external modules and tracks, for example). Now, the probability of penetrating the main armor after the HE shell penetrates the screen will greatly decrease, especially for vehicles with weak side armor. Therefore, the likelihood of receiving a lot of damage when penetrated by a HE shell will also be lower. The effective penetration of the HE shell after passing through spaced armor is reduced by the thickness of the spaced armor, times three. For example:

  • In CT1, a HE shell with 100 mm penetration once it passed through 20 mm of spaced armor was left with 80 mm of penetration to the main armor.
  • In CT2, a HE shell with 100 mm penetration after it passes through 20 mm of spaced armor will be left with 40 mm of penetration to the main armor.

WoT EU: June Triple Top of the Tree

The triple Top of the Tree returns for June with a new line-up. Focus on one branch and complete missions to climb all the way to Tier X, or explore all three nations and add new vehicles to your collection with nice discounts.

The French X AMX 50 B heavy tank relies on agility and its autoloader for survival, rather than strong armor. Wait for your teammates with a thick skin to engage the enemy and quickly come to their aid with an impressive top speed of 65 km/h and an even more stunning 120 mm SA46 autoloading gun. The 4 shells per clip can dish out an average of 400 damage every 2.5 seconds, enough to leave nothing behind but ashes and dust.

If you prefer to play hide and seek with your enemies, take on the Swedish tank destroyer line up to the X Strv 103B . The further along you get, the flatter and more futuristic-looking these unique vehicles seem to be. It is a branch of sneaky and fast vehicles, especially the top-tier vehicles with their special Travel and Siege mode. Switch to Travel mode and use great mobility to escape your opponents, or surprise your target with precise shots from a safe distance with improved gun handling in Siege mode.

The final spotlight shines on a true classic. The X E 50 Ausf. M is among the older vehicles in-game, but by no means outdated, especially after receiving a nice upgrade to its turret armor not too long ago. It is a monster of a medium tank, with exceptionally strong frontal armor, and a precise cannon. Despite its size and weight, it is surprisingly mobile and can reach up to 60 km/h at top speed. Quickly take the best sniper positions and use armor-angling maneuvers to bounce shells while aiming at enemy weak spots. And if an opponent dares to come too close, use your superior power-to-weight ratio and over 60 tons of steel to ram them in their place, also known as a cozy spot in their Garage.

No matter which path you choose, make sure to take full advantage of the following discounts on the purchase price in credits and XP missions. Don’t forget that you can also purchase an extra boost if you want to speed things up even more!

Discounts

Available from June 1 at 07:00 CEST through July 1 at 07:00 CEST (UTC+2)
