In addition to the Matchmaker changes (the SPG-related part), the requirements for earning the Burda Medal have also been changed. Instead of destroying 3 SPGs, players will now only need to destroy 2 SPGs that are one tier higher than their own vehicle.
The task has become noticeably easier. The medal now resembles the Yoshio Tamada Medal, where the requirements are the same, except they must be completed while playing a light tank.
It may now be possible to earn both medals simultaneously when fulfilling the requirements in a light tank.
I remember the good ol’ days, when this needed you to hunt down 5 SPGs in a single battle. I had the most ridiculous battles getting only a Pasciucci’s for 3 arta in an unbuffed T95 going 13kph tops. I just put it in drive and went thru in the middle of the map without meeting anyone until reaching thei base and scoring the three little piggies…
It’s interesting that you can now realistically complete two medals in a single match on a light tank. It almost turns into a mini event of its own. This could be especially relevant in games with a lot of artillery, where good routing and timing can let you meet both conditions without taking unnecessary risks. Did that in the old times, 1st with SU 122-44 killing 5 artas,2nd time in E50 also killed 5 artas,still remember how my hands were shaking.From all medals i got i only remember these 2 games and 1 or 2 for kolobanov.
