WoT: Ares 90 C In-Game Screenshots & Historical Reference

With the release of update 2.1.1, the Ares 90 C tank (🇺🇸 USA, Tier XI Medium Tank, techtree, mechanics: Automatic gun with temperature control system and Reserve track) will be released and become available for research in the tech tree after the 🇺🇸 Ares 90 (a new U.S. sub-branch with a new mechanic).

More details about the new sub-branch mechanic – “Automatic gun with temperature control system”:
• This gun does not require reloading.
• Each shot heats the gun: the higher the temperature, the more certain parameters change.
• Continuous firing leads to overheating, after which firing becomes impossible until the gun cools down.

Historical Reference:
One of the tank projects equipped with an automatic gun from the Ares family. All shortcomings identified in previous developments were eliminated in this vehicle. Firepower and armor protection were significantly enhanced, and mobility was maximized thanks to the installation of a boosted version of the Caterpillar LVMS-1050 VHOTF turbodiesel engine, allowing the tank to reach a high top speed. The vehicle never entered mass production, as development of a unified main battle tank with a classic layout was already underway at the time, which was considered a more reliable and promising option.

Crew for the entire sub-branch:
3 crew members

  1. Loosely based on the HSTV-L (High Survivability Test Vehicle-Light) which had a theoretical rate of fire of 120 rounds per minute. (The gun was named “Ares” and was only 75mm).
