This feature has been LONG awaited by players! And finally, after more than a decade, it will officially appear in the game.
The Armor Viewer (“Armor Inspection”) is located in the service menu of a tank on the main garage screen. Once selected, you will be taken to a new window where you can examine the armor itself.
Currently, the functionality is quite simple: when hovering the cursor over a specific part of the tank, the following will be displayed: nominal armor thickness, impact angle, and effective armor taking both angle and spaced armor into account. Armor thickness is color-coded depending on the level of protection or the thickness of screens.
However, in WG’s current implementation, different projectile types are not taken into account. This means you won’t be able to test how a specific type of projectile behaves against a chosen impact point. Still, we believe this may be improved in the future (and we really hope so!), since there is plenty of room on the Armor Viewer screen for adding new functions.
The system also lacks internal module visualization. This is a feature many players would also like to see, but unfortunately it will not be implemented. For example, such visualization exists in Project CW. The reasoning is somewhat clear though: in the past, a mod existed that made vehicles transparent and showed internal modules. That mod was quickly banned. If WG added this feature, it would effectively give modders free rein again. Conclusion: do not expect this function to be added.
To summarize, there is still a lot of room to expand this feature. For example, implementing a hit history from the last battles since the newly added KillCam alone is not enough. Players still have questions about every projectile fired at their vehicle.

Modules and crew members could be displayed like in WoT Console, each one in separate tabs.
Also, they could be compared with specific shells and distances like in Tanks GG.
Even a completely new feature could be added.
This feature could be greatly improved, and the fact that it has finally been implemented is commendable.
Displaying crew and modules is a way worse “cheat” than the flashlight (that is an awefull idea and the only thing I don’t like with 2.0) and a slippery slope. How easy should they make it/it be for the lazy asses that don’t have the energy/will/stamina to learn the game as we veterans have?
