Games Expected in 2025 (P)

So long to last month’s stay of 2024, which was quite a prolific year for games. Of course, this year is going to be yet another full year for video games. Here’s a roundup of the most anticipated games in 2025. Many big releases are slated to arrive, with a good chunk of them coming from games that have been in the works for a long time. Without further ado, here they are.

Doom The Dark Ages

Avowed

When we think of RPGs and game developers, one of the first that comes to mind is Obsidian Entertainment, and for good reason. They are one of the most productive companies in this industry. They’ve done Fallout: New Vegas, KOTOR 2, Alpha Protocol, and are now returning with a story set in the Pillars of Eternity universe. This is similar to the games produced by them, which will also be released on Game Pass. On February 18, 2025, Obsidian Entertainment will launch The Outer Worlds 2 during the year alongside Avowed. You can get injured in a game and fuel up your stamina with different items. However, in real life, you may need medical assistance and then injury lawyers in Indiana.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater

The remake of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater is one of the most popular games in the Metal Gear Solid series and is considered one of the top games ever. As such, it has had practically all the original gameplay copied over. Word is that nothing’s been added, other than a big visual upgrade—not even a few minor animation bugs. If Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, one of next year’s most anticipated titles, scores well and sells successfully, we might be able to play the entire series in an overhauled form in future years, which would be seriously awesome! Some people may prefer the games like the War Thunder where they replicate a real war feeling and strategies.

Doom: The Dark Ages

Returning in 2016 with its sequel Doom: Eternal, Doom taught the gaming world an important lesson in bringing a franchise back. Doom: The Dark Ages will take us to the past, before the 2016 story, and fill us in on how Doomguy became Doomguy. The Dark Ages sounds like an awful lot of fun from the gameplay side. It’s seriously one of the least suspicious games for next year if it’s gonna be good! The good thing is that we’ll be able to play it on day one with Game Pass.

The Spirit of Yōtei (Sucker Punch)

A spiritual successor to Ghost of Tsushima gameplay, though completely unrelated in both story and character, the next Sucker Punch saga will present a samurai game akin to the one in Ghost of Tsushima. Our new leading man, Atsu, will terrorize enemies with his dual katana and ride through the jaw-dropping, picturesque Feudal Japan. Definitely a PS5 title to watch out for, so make sure it’s on your list.

Borderlands 4

That said, there’s a chance this could just be some good old-fashioned trolling of the fans, especially those eagerly awaiting news of Borderlands 4. With its slogan, “Guns, more guns, more guns, more guns,” the Borderlands franchise will offer way more weaponry than we can possibly use in the game. Using similar art to earlier entries in the series, this colorful first-person shooter will also add a grappling hook to allow us to ascend great heights. An enormous map is also on the cards.
