BZ-68 (Tier IX, Chinese, Heavy)
The BZ-68, the new Tier IX Chinese heavy tank with the jet booster mechanic, will be coming to the Supertest soon! The vehicle comes with a top forward speed of 35 km/h, with a specific power of 12.8 h.p./t. Upon activation, the jet boosters will increase the engine power, providing a boost to the top speed.
The vehicle is equipped with a 130 mm gun that deals 530 damage per shot. Its standard AP shell penetrates 248 mm of armor, while the special HEAT shell penetrates up to 315 mm. It has an accuracy of 0.42 m, an aiming time of 2.9 s and a reload time of 15 s with a view range of 380 m.
The thickness of the frontal turret armor reaches 280 mm and 120 mm for the hull armor, while the total durability is 1,950 hit points.
Jet Booster Mechanic
At the start of battle, the jet booster mechanic will take five seconds to load and prepare for use. You’ll be notified of this in a corresponding indicator bar. After that, the boosters can be activated. Once activated, the tank will receive a brief boost to its engine power and top forward speed, as well as its initial momentum, allowing the heavy combat vehicle to accelerate.
When the jet booster mechanic is in use, the vehicle will have difficulty turning and reversing. You will not be able to cancel the effect until one charge is fully depleted. After that, you will need to wait five more seconds until the boosters are reloaded.
The boost effect lasts 10 seconds and can be used up to five times per battle with the given amount of jet fuel (for the BZ-68). After the last use of the jet booster mechanic, the indicator will go out, notifying you of your empty fuel tanks, and you won’t be able to use the boosters for the remainder of the battle.
When used correctly, this mechanic will allow you to quickly cross dangerous areas at critical moments in battle, ram lightly armored targets more efficiently, and occupy key positions faster. Overall, there are plenty of ways to adapt this mechanic to your strategy and playstyle.
Every vehicle in the new Chinese branch will feature the jet booster mechanic. However, the exact configurations (e.g., the number and duration of uses per battle) have yet to be finalized.
60 tons and 53 km/h top speed (maybe more with turbo)? It’s gonna be a non-stop ramming fest for at least a week after introduction.
120 front plate means it’s not gonna be that good for ramming. You’re gonna get a lot of people who activate the rocket booster, full commit as a result cause they can’t stop, and end up doing like 600 while taking 500 in return and dying from a crossfire. It will be very funny tho for like 3 hours and then it’ll just be extremely annoying watching people suicide basically, but hey those first few hours will be great at least.
but turret 280mm means: no pen with standard ammo but cheese for prem ammo. surely this is, what needs the game even more.
What annoyes me is that it’s another tank limited at 35, so far most of the new tanks (beside the vz-55) are all limited around 35-40.
35-40 km/h should be the top speed for all fast heavies, with the superheavies going 20-25 km/h.
And those numbers can be achieved when needed, WZ-111 6 got its speed nerfed to 40 km/h despite other WZ-111s going at 50 km/h.
Also, this line has the rocket booster gimmick, they can get short bursts of speed when needed.
