WoT Supertest: AMX 29 Bélier

The AMX 29 Bélier is a Tier X French support medium tank. A low profile, excellent concealment, and high mobility—with a top forward speed of 63 km/h and a specific power of 29.7 h.p./t—enable it to perform maneuvers least expected by enemies and deliver devastating attacks.

The tank’s 127 mm gun, with 490 HP of damage per shot, has its own kind of improved autoreloader with two shells. If you fire the “bottom” round when the “top” one has almost reloaded, the reload time of the bottom round is drastically shortened. Another stat of note is gun dispersion, at 0.33 m.

  1. Well, finally a tank appears with the mechanics of the heavy Italian autoloaders, where that “boost” is a reduction in the reload time of the next clip shot.

  2. Tbh, this tank would’ve been interesting even without the Rino-style autoreloader – it’s fast, with camo and huge alpha

  3. As a rule, all French tanks have one thing in common: high speed. That is their strength; the rest—gun handling, armor, etc.—is usually rubbish. I therefore doubt that the tank will make it into the game with these stats. The gun handling will almost certainly be nerfed—and severely so.

  4. These stats are only half the story. When looking at a vehicle with these stats, the dispersion values related to gun handling are what matter. The best stats are useless if you end up with 0.40 dispersion during turret or hull traverse.
