Historical Reference:
Project for a deep modernization of the M47 tank in service with the French army. The main goal was to keep the vehicle relevant until sufficient numbers of AMX-30 tanks were produced.
It was planned to install a new gun, improve fire control systems, strengthen armor protection, mount a bulldozer blade and external fuel tanks, as well as reduce the crew (the assistant driver’s position was used for ammunition stowage). The introduction of the AMX-30 progressed faster than expected, and the modernized M47 became obsolete for the French army. The vehicle was also offered for export but did not attract interest. To demonstrate rearmament capabilities, one prototype with a new gun was built, but its further fate is unknown.
Multiple tanks were fitted with the dozer blade. There was a single prototype witht he gun.
This offering is a kit-bash of different tanks. But at least it is grounded in reality.
Why we does not got a regular M47? there ist a whole between M46 and M48 now.
Because we already have M47 in the game – it’s the top turret of M46 T9. Essentially, no one is playing with M46 Patton (except for the tier 8 Patton KR) – everyone is playing with M47 Patton.
In this case, and you are right, we just need a regular M46.
