Historical Reference:
The T-34-100 tank was designed at the KB-520 design bureau of Factory No. 183 in Nizhny Tagil in early 1945 and was a further development of the T-34-85, aimed at increasing its firepower while maintaining the same weight and mobility.
A new turret with an enlarged turret ring was developed for the vehicle, housing a powerful 100 mm gun. In the spring of 1945, Factory No. 183 began preparations for the mass production of the T-34-100. This decision would have allowed the Red Army to field a mass-produced medium tank with more powerful armament than the T-34-85, without reducing overall tank production, which was critically important during wartime. However, these plans were never realized: immediately after the end of World War II, production of the T-34-100 was canceled in favor of more advanced medium tanks such as the T-44 and T-54.
