Historical Reference:
The T-34-100 tank was designed at Design Bureau No. 520 of Factory No. 183 in Nizhny Tagil in early 1945 and was a further development of the T-34-85, aimed at increasing its firepower while maintaining the same weight and mobility.
A new turret with an enlarged turret ring was developed for the tank, housing a powerful 100 mm gun. In the spring of 1945, Factory No. 183 began preparations for the mass production of the T-34-100. This decision would have provided the Red Army with a mass-produced medium tank featuring more powerful armament than the T-34-85, without reducing overall tank production, which was extremely important during wartime. However, these plans were never realized: immediately after the end of World War II, it was decided to abandon production of the T-34-100 in favor of the more advanced medium tanks T-44 and T-54.
