WoT RU: Frequently Asked Questions About the New Swedish SPG Branch

How and when will it be possible to access the Swedish SPG branch?
• The new branch will appear in the game with the launch of the second season of the “Orbit” project. To unlock access to researching Swedish SPGs, you will need to complete two stages of the second season.

Which vehicle will the research start from?
• The branch research will begin with the Tier V tank destroyer Ikv 103.

How many crew members will the new SPGs have?
• The crews of all vehicles in the branch will consist of five members: Commander, Gunner, Driver, Radio Operator, and Loader.

What guns will the Swedish SPGs receive?
Tier VI and VII vehicles will be equipped with classic cyclic guns.
• Starting from Tier VIII, vehicles will receive guns with a reserve-shell loading system and a three-projectile cassette.

How does the reserve-shell loading mechanic work on Swedish SPGs?
• Guns with a reserve-shell loading system allow firing in two ways:
Single shot — immediately after the first projectile in the cassette is loaded.
Salvo fire — with a short interval between shots if you wait until two or three projectiles are loaded.

Will there be more artillery in battles with the addition of the Swedish SPG branch?
• No. The matchmaker rules will remain unchanged: no more than two SPGs per team in Random Battles (and no more than four in Grand Battles).

  1. Lol! All the SPG haters out there must love having a new branch of arties, some with multishell mechanics, flooding the random queues again.

    1. Doesn’t matter if you see more in the matchmaker, because you won’t see more per match anyway 🤷‍♂️

  2. If the MM only allows 2 TDs per side, then basically EVERY battle will have SPGs going forward since people will still play them but there wont be any 3 SPG battles. So that extra SOG will turn a 1 SOG game into a 2 SPG game.

    1. 2 SPGs hits that magic spot where there’s enough of them in a given match to be annoying, but not enough to make playing around them a good idea. perfect for morons, i suppose, but for everyone else it’s the worst distribution.

    2. Not really. I tracked the SPGs per game in my battles just out of curiosity and in 2026 I’ve had 18% with 0 SPGs, 68% with 1 SPG, 13% with 2 SPGs and less than 1% with 3 SPGs, so on average 0.97 SPGs per game. I believe that after the changes there will be 70% 1 SPG per game, 6% no SPGs and 14% 2 SPGs – to maintain the same SPG/battle ratio. Keep in mind I play almost only T8+. In low and mid tiers I’m sure it will be 2 SPGs/battle more than 60% of the time, because all leFH, Grille, AMX 13 F3, GWPanther, FV304 and M44 enjoyers
