A new Tier X tank, the Ares 90, has been spotted on a popular professional website for artists and 3D modelers. The person who uploaded it is a developer and designer of the WoT 2.0 hangar, and the tank can be clearly seen in the vehicle carousel.
According to the screenshot, Ares 90 (🇺🇸USA, MT-X, mechanic: ??, vehicle class: ??) appears to be the techtree top of a new American medium tank branch. The screenshot was likely taken in summer 2025, when the tank still lacked a proper small icon. Although it’s not 100% confirmed to be a techtree vehicle, it most likely is.
The name “Ares” itself doesn’t reveal much—there are no public references to a tank by this name. However, there is a light weapons manufacturer called Ares Incorporated, known for producing automatic rifles and autocannons for light armored vehicles, which could hint at the tank’s design concept or armament.
Since the screenshot was taken directly from the game client and not as concept art, there is a high chance that this Tier X vehicle will be released soon.
The Ares 90 is an HSTV-L mounting a 90mm instead of a 75mm meaning it’s a Light

maybe they learned their mistake with Czech LTs that are absolutely fucking shit as light tanks and would work infinitely better in the medium class.
Yet they are one of the most fun lights to play. All they needed is a fun machanic to carry the gameplay.
Lol czech lts are fkin amazing (i would know as i 3rd marked X). You just have to learn specific gameplay which you cant learn on anything else, hence almost nobody play it the right way. If you follow methodology firmly, its a machine that can run circles with manticore or rhm easily. Amazing tank. The fact that its underrated helps it even more.

in what world is it likely its a tech tree tank? (although I personally would like a new tree rather than only tier 111s, or a good mix of both)
WG confirmed their focus is solely on tier 11 Tanks for now, no new lines planned. (Stream with sergej)
I find it more likely the Ares will be a vehicle for the assembly shops.
As shown in the photo, it should be tech tree, because of the colour of the tank’s name. For premiums and reward tanks it’s yellow-goldish, for tech tree and collector’s tanks it’s white-silverish.

I dont remember previous leaks with these hidden tanks, if they also had white writing or it did fit their status, but if it was always corrrect, it must be a tech tree…which is weird to me. maybe wg planned another surprise by saying “no new trees planned” 😀

well, concept 5 was initially supposed to be an auto cannon medium but the idea was scrapped, so maybe that ares will be one?
Are we sure it’s no new lines…or no new national trees? I thought it was the second. We’ll find out soon enough though if we get Czech TDs in the near future.

Answer: prio 1 is to finalize all lines with tier 11, including balanced ones.

Of course, maybe they meant that once tier 11 will get soe tier 11 only battles regularly they can add new lines again…
