“I barely managed to get back on my feet and wiped the remaining myrium off my mask and camera. Strangely enough, both were intact — which couldn’t be said about the machine that almost ran me over. The longer I looked at it, the more it resembled a wounded animal rather than a broken vehicle. Oddly, its ‘wounds’ were pulled together with steel chains — like a savage parody of a field medic stitching up an injured soldier.

But echo-tanks are just tanks. They aren’t alive, right? They can’t bleed.
Then why was myrium leaking from its twisted hull?
And why did it look… afraid?”
